  • Natters that Matter | Making Good Habits with Lee Pycroft

This episode is brought to you in collaboration with Philips.

The Philips Lumea is an impressive device that’s safe to use at home featuring really sophisticated technology that can give a result of a 92% reduction in just three treatments. But, in addition to the IPL technology, the success of your treatment relies on using the device on a specific schedule, which is why Lee Pycroft, psychotherapist and coach, is joining me in this episode to discuss how we make habits and how we can create space in our lives to use the Philips Lumea for optimal results. We also discuss the role of consistency in reaping the rewards of habitual behaviour and what our habits say, or don’t say, about us.

To find out more about the Philips Lumea visit: Philips Lumea IPL 9000 Series.

  • Lisa Bilyeu | Top tips for becoming the BEST version of yourself.

Lisa Bilyeu is the co-founder and president of Impact Theory, a digital media production company focused on empowering content. And that, listeners, is how I first came to learn about Lisa. I watched the video of an interview she had done with my friend, the makeup artist and entrepreneur, Mally Roncal and really liked the tone of her content, which is design to wake up, confront, empower and motivate those who watch it.

In this conversation, @lisabilyeu and I discuss:

    • Why it’s so easy to find yourself in the purgatory of the mundane.
    • Why it’s her mission to push people to know what their dreams are and be confident to pursue them.
    • Her message of radical confidence.
    • Why, if you have a goal, you have to have the energy and mindset as if it’s Day One every single day.
    • How, in her youth, she had wanted to fit in so badly that she ended up minimising herself and how she came to be able to shift into her gear when she was unapologetically herself.
    • Why taking ownership of your mistakes and committing to learning from them is so important.
    • Why the ego is only ever trying to protect you but sometimes doesn’t help you at all.
    • How we can fall into the trap of rejecting ourselves and so much more…

  • Natters that Matter | Harnaam Kaur

This episode is brought to you in collaboration with Philips.

Harnaam Kaur is a motivational speaker and social activist whose insights on choice, and how those choices inspire positivity and self-expression are eye-opening and ultimately empowering.

in this episode, Harnaam and I discuss; self-expression and why confidence comes from making choices that empower you - and who cares what anyone else thinks? We chat about Harnaam’s choices around the Philips Lumea and how just because she has a beard it doesn’t mean she doesn’t use the device elsewhere on her body - and other assumptions people may make just from looking at her. She explains why she so passionate about the mantra ‘my body, my rules’ and how we can continue to move conversations around body and facial hair forward with understanding and acceptance.

    • Why the combination of early morning exercise, and exercise where you really go for it, set him up for the day.
    • Why matching fragrance to your mood and throwing all the fragrance ‘rules’ out of the window is a way to instantly transport yourself to a good mood.
    • How nurturing plants and surrounding himself with plants makes him thrive as much and them.
    • How nurturing friendships is something he realised he needed to do more of during lockdown when it wasn’t possible to see people IRL.

  • Alison Young | The Beauty Insider

Alison Young is an independent qualified beauty therapist who returns to the podcast to share her insights from 35 years in the beauty industry. From being a hands-on therapist to the face of beauty on shopping TV and brands' secret weapon when developing products, there's not much she doesn't know.

In this conversation, Ali and I discuss:

    • Why the customer always comes first.
    • Why people in the public eye who have cosmetic tweakments and don’t declare it set an unrealistic expectation for what beauty products can do
    • Why she hasn’t had any cosmetic procedures because she doesn’t want anything to skew the effects and therefore how good a product actually is
    • How a shift in how we spoke about beauty a few years ago has allowed much more ‘good’ information to get out into the world but sadly has opened the doors to some ‘bad’ information.
    • How beauty identities, ie, being someuse who uses clean beauty for example, allows you to be marketed to better but doesn’t actually mean you’re getting better skincare
    • Why what works for someone else won’t necessarily work for you
    • Why the biggest mistake a brand can make is forgetting about the customer and much much more…

  • My Feel-Good Habits

In this episode of the podcast, I share my feel-good habits, the strategies I use and recommend to make sure every day is a good day.

    My habits include:

    • Making sure every day starts off as productively as possible, and why that can only happen if I have an evening ritual in place.
    • Why cleaning and tidy not only organise the mind and make me feel productive in the short-term but also have long-term benefits too.
    • The importance of getting outside to get fresh air and also be in nature and why tagging on the habit of breathwork (I choose @mrjamesnestor and @icemanhof for mine) maximizes any time outside.
    • How lockdown and the shift from in-person to online communication with friends has altered my friendships but made me appreciate my connections in a way I hadn’t had the chance to before.
    • Why learning and becoming a sponge for new information has been one of the best feel-good habits I’ve leaned into during lockdown and want to carry on now restrictions have lifted.
