Earlier this year my wife, Peyton, was prepping to attend a Bee The Wellness Retreat when she sent a subtle invitation my way—knowing that there were many adventures planned within this retreat that were quite outside of my comfort zone—and spoiler alert, I had the time of my life. It’s no secret that I have experimented with many spiritual medicines and retreats, yet this one created space for me to experience one of my most genuine connections to self and others.
During the festival, the facilitators held a panel on how they each have created a life that they are in love with and the obstacles that presented themselves along the way. I had the absolute honor of moderating this conversation with Vanessa and Adam Lambert, Samuel J, Ting Ting, Porangui, Ashley Klein, Michael Worry and Erin Claire Jones.

As a successful portfolio manager at a large hedge fund, Jason Pickard reached a tipping point in 2006. At 330 pounds and getting sick often, it hit him how out of balance, depressed, and uncomfortable he was. Despite his physical size, he felt small psychologically, too—finally realizing that success and happiness were not at all the same.
Since then, Jason has studied and experienced a multitude of cross-cultural pathways to greater health, higher consciousness, and multi-faceted self-expression. He now guides as a Life Process Coach to assist others along their experience to a more fulfilled Self.

We are capable, with investigation, of understanding anything in the world. Today's conversation with my friend, Del Bigtree, is all about trusting our own intelligence and instincts. Del is host of The HighWire and founder of Informed Consent Action Network — putting the power of scientifically researched health information into our hands and enabling our medical decisions to come from tangible understanding, not medical coercion.

⟶ The importance of The Freedom of Information Act
⟶ Learning to trust our own intelligence and instincts
⟶ Being willing to question and investigate narratives

You may be familiar with today's guest like I was, from Sons of Anarchy or his latest film, Emily The Criminal, but I had the pleasure of sitting down and getting to actually know the human being within these characters played.
Theo Rossi joins us on TGU to share his unique journey of life and personal experience in the entertainment industry. The grass is not always greener and, although grateful, he has been met with immense challenges living life in a media world that thrives and 'succeeds' on inauthenticity; let alone a world that applies so much pressure on being successful, with little guidance on what post-success looks and feels like.
Theo and I dive into...
→ Why greatness is not created through perfection
→ The problems that money doesn't solve
→ How Theo moves through life's ‘new levels, new devils’
→ Achieving happiness through smaller, everyday moments
→ How we've both navigated the discomfort of post-success
→ His fatherhood journey after growing up without the presence of his own biological father

Have you ever experienced a calamity that seemingly optimized your life?
From Wall Street to biodynamic farming, Jared Pickard and his wife tended to one of our country's only biodynamic farm; until earlier this year when fires seized control. No doubt this was an incredibly traumatic experience witnessing their home and business be stripped from them, however, some place inside of him felt that maybe this was all part of something larger. Shortly after, when depression sank in, he found himself returning to one thing he knew could use some tending to – self care. And wildly enough, one of the few things that survived the fires was a surprise trunk full of their skincare serum that they had produced via the resources from their farm.
Jared, Eben and I dive into...
→ Why organic farming isn't always healthy
→ The intimate relationship between earth care and self care
→ Interacting with food as a positive feedback loop
→ The importance of having dreams and desires through turbulent waters
→ Practicing the skill of shifting from narrow focus to open focus
→ And more!

Bringing y'all a quadcast today with some of my favorite people to learn from and with — Luke Storey, Josh Trent and Dr. John Lieurance. Why are these some of my favorite people to learn from? We jump all over the board of self care and evolution from embarking on vision quests, to dialing in on the basics of healing our body, to learning techniques for amplifying the power of connection with our loved ones. All that to say, these aren't checklist items, they take purposeful action and practice – simple, yet not easy. Here's to always learning ways to be more on purpose and connected.

→ How to practice pattern interrupt to create more connectedness and healthier responses
→ Why being adrenalized is the modern day illness and how to heal this
