  • Kevin Hines: All I Wanted to Do Was Live
TW: suicide, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, addiction, prostitution
In the year 2000, Kevin Hines became one of only 36 (less than 1%) to survive the fall from the Golden Gate Bridge. Today, he is a best-selling author, public speaker, and award-winning documentary filmmaker who travels the world sharing his story of hope, healing, and recovery while teaching the ability to survive pain over and over again. Today, he opens up about his traumatic childhood, the day his brain broke, and the journey he has been on ever since. He discusses the instant regret he experienced as he tried to take his life, his experience in psychiatric wards, and meeting the love of his life. Kevin offers insight on how to have a conversation with someone you think may be suicidal, what he teaches people who are struggling with suicidal thoughts, and what to do when someone tells you they are suicidal. Lastly, he provides an inspiring update on his fight for a net to surround the entirety of the Golden Gate Bridge, his foundation, and offers a direct message to anyone out there considering suicide. Please: Be Here Tomorrow.

So glad you made time to listen. How’s life? • JP Saxe: I Need a Therapist
    TW: addiction, grief and loss
Your hosts are both massive fans of this week’s guest, musician and singer JP Saxe. The episode is full of energy and insight, as JP starts off by inquiring if the Lautners find navigating enmeshment more challenging by their shared name. The three then dive into love and conflict languages and the importance of being malleable to your partners’ styles. JP talks about his childhood, including the blessings he’s discovered from not being popular at a young age and his journey of defining masculinity in his own terms. Taylor also opens up about the struggles he faced when playing Jacob and the pressure he felt to portray a perfect life. The three then discuss feelings of being a burden to your partner, bullying, and being an only child—something girl Tay and JP have in common! JP opens up about growing up in a house suffering from addiction, and explains his journey with loss and grief to Taylor, who has not yet experienced any sort of family loss. He also shares the series of decisions that made him realize it was time to start therapy and the role songwriting has played in his healing journey.
Be sure to follow JP @jpsaxe

  • Dr. Sasha: ADHD and Knowing Your Patterns
Dr. Sasha is a psychiatrist specializing in ADHD who has ADHD herself. Today she joins your hosts to discuss her journey with the diagnosis, med school, and becoming a parent. Dr. Sasha breaks down the three hallmark features of ADHD and the various ways they can present themselves. She explains how she stopped taking her medication when she went off to school and felt like she had a stroke as she fell to the bottom of her class—by a lot. Her and her father then dove into ADHD research so she could fully understand what was going on. She explains the shocking gap in the average age of diagnosis between genders, and how people (especially women) can be diagnosed with anxiety or depression in place of ADHD because of their symptoms. She offers advice to parents potentially facing a diagnosis and emphasizes the importance of recognizing your own patterns. She also touches on ADHD and dating/relationships, and discusses her book and ADHD management app to help people with ADHD.
Follow Dr. Sasha on Instagram and TikTok @thepsychdoctormd and check out her book, Self-Care for People with ADHD 100+ Ways to Recharge, De-Stress, and Prioritize You! Plus, watch out for her app, FocusGenie, coming soon.

  • Tay & Tay Lautner: Let’s Go Back to the Beginning
Let’s go back to the beginning (of the podcast and the love story!) with another solo episode where the Lautners offer a look into the beginning of their relationship. Before they get started, Taylor addresses a video he posted on social media about some rude comments he came across and wants to set the record straight on his intention in posting it. They then get into audience questions! The most popular question by far has to do with the reality of a “famous person” dating a “normal person” so your hosts take a deep dive into keeping their relationship private, when they felt ready to go public, Tay’s first introductions to the industry and the first-class lifestyle, and the hardest moment that has resulted from being in a public relationship. They also tackle a few rapid-fire questions, such as if their astrological signs are accurate, who kissed who first, and what Tay’s parents thought of her dating a celebrity! Lastly, Taylor walks us through his proposal-planning process. Let us know what you think of the episode, and if we should do more solo shows in the future!

  • Chervin Jafarieh: The First Day of the Rest of Your Life
Get ready for an enlightening and engaging episode as your hosts welcome Chervin Jafarieh, founder of Cymbiotika, a company offering cutting edge, pure products that improve energy levels, focus, physical stamina, and overall health! He explains the motivation behind creating Cymbiotika and his desire to help people achieve optimal health. Chervin criticizes both the pharmaceutical industry and the supplement world, and proposes Cymbiotika as a way to help with a problem we shouldn’t even have in the first place. • Lexi Hensler: Destigmatize the Conversation
After returning from a long European trip, your hosts are thrilled to be back in the interview chair talking to social media star and mental health advocate, Lexi Hensler. Lexi is open about her struggles with anxiety and depression from a very young age and talks to the Lautners about what helps her manage it all. She also talks about her bucket list, something she came up with when she was in the hospital with an infection that resulted in organ failure and a panic attack disorder. Lexi is out to destigmatize the conversation around mental health, and one of the amazing ways she is doing that is through her weighted stuffed animal company, Hugz. Lexi talks about her biggest goal for the company, discusses her relationship with social media, and shares her love for Oprah. Plus, the three bond over their love of dogs and the value they bring to your life, especially on the hard days. Lexi’s message is loud and clear: please keep holding on and know it does get better. If you find yourself struggling with your mental health, please reach out for help.
