This is a safe space, I promise. Raise your hand if:
If you raised your hand to any combination of these questions, you, my friend, might be a people pleaser. What's that? Well according to Natalie Lue, author of The Joy of Saying No, a people pleaser is someone that “suppresses and represses who they are to please others." Ouch right?
If that sounds familiar, don't worry you are not alone. In fact, I am a recovering people pleaser and I learned a lot about why we do it, and how to stop from today's guest, relationship expert-- Natalie Lue.
In today's episode, she's getting down to the core of why we people please, how to recognize if you're doing it, how to stop, why no's aren't a bad thing, and how to create and honor boundaries. If you're ready to take back your power and show up as your full self without the people pleasing then today's episode is for you!

When you hear the phrase #SelfCare what comes to mind?
Is it a trip to the mall to spoil yourself rotten? Or how about a nice warm bath with a glass of Black Girl Magic Riesling? For me, self-care is binging episodes of Love After Lockup and eating a $5 holla from Little Caesar's. Judge yo momma!
Now there is certainly a time and a place for the type of self-care that's all bath bombs and giggles. But then there are times when the soul yearns for more. Where you are called to get still, be quiet and do the inner work. In today's episode, we're chatting with wellness advocate; Taylor Elyse Morrison about what self-care is beyond face masks and matcha. She's showing us how to slow down, tune in + show up for ourselves in the most loving way.

Lately, my inner critic has been going OFF on me, throwing the classic jabs like;
“You’re not good enough”
“It’s too late”
"You're too old"
“You’re doing a bad job”
and the list goes on and on.
And truth be told, I was starting to believe every single one of those lies. That is until I asked myself two small questions that changed the game-
-Does any of that have to be the truth?
-Is there an alternate set of thoughts I can choose to believe about myself?
And asking myself those bad babies nipped my negative self-talk in the bud. If you’re anything like me and struggle with quieting your inner critic, then today's episode is for you (and me).

When I first launched the podcast back in 2017 I had no idea how big of a blessing it would be in my business. All I wanted to do was encourage #GoalGetters, write less, and work on my public speaking skills. But fast forward 5 years later and this podcast has done so much more. It helped me:
The cool part? I didn't see any of this coming! If you've been thinking about starting a podcast then today's episode is for you! I'm sharing how podcasting has helped me grow not only in my business but as a person!

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just put your product, service, or idea out there once, and people just showed up consistently to throw money your way?
It would be incredible, but business doesn’t always work out that way. You have to actually market your business. You have to show up on social media, buy ads, create a website, start a yelp page, be a podcast guest, get a booth at a trade show (the list goes on and on)— to get the word out and get sales.
Now that doesn’t sound all that sexy now does it? Hell no. Marketing sounds like a whole lot of work + a whole lot of money. And because of that, most entrepreneurs skip marketing altogether and then get pissed when the sales, clients, and opportunities don't show up.
The bottom line is that if you want a thriving business, you have to be intentional about marketing. It's the key to not only attracting your dream customers but to building a community of superfans that love to pay you for your work.
In today’s episode, marketing maven Asia David is hopping in the podcast guest chair to teach us the basics of marketing and how it doesn't have to be as complicated as most entrepreneurs think it is.

Starting a business is all fun and games until you realize how much it costs to make your business do what it do! There's equipment to buy, annual state fees to pay and inventory that needs to stay stocked. You have to pay employees, pay rent, basically pay everybody and their momma, forever and ever amen.
So how do you do it? How do you start a business or keep it running when the money just isn’t there?
Now, don't you go rolling your eyes at me. There is legit all kinds of free money floating around out there called grants. The only catch is that you have to apply for them. Yep, that's it and that's all!
Sound too good to be true? Well, listen to today's episode and let Brianna Hairlson change your mind. She opened up her dance studio in 2020, right at the height of the pandemic, and as fate would have it, signed a pretty lengthy lease. With a brand new studio and no in-person classes in sight; Brianna got down to business and started applying to ALL the grants. And guess how much free money she secured for her business? $120,000! Not only did she secure hella money, but she also received equipment, radio and tv commercials, and even a billboard in Times Square!
Brianna is a genius when it comes to finding + securing grants. So in today's episode, she's sharing how she did it and how you can too.

Just + little are two words that I can't stand. We tend to use them when we're used to dimming our light and downplaying just how dope we are. We say things like;
"Oh yeah, I wrote a LITTLE book"
"I'm JUST a hairstylist"
"I have a LITTLE business"
"I'm JUST an artist"
Well, what if you started to say who you are + what you did with your whole chest? How would you show up if you own your work, your artistry, your business, your skills + your talents? What opportunities could you attract if you completely eliminated just and little out of your vocabulary?
That's what we're talking about in today's quick tip-- how to stop playing small and show up unapologetically even with the words we chose to speak about ourselves + the things we do.
