My guest this week, Logan Martin, is not only stepping in to his own journey, but is a facilitator for others to do the same. Love does not technically “exist”—it is intangible. I wanted to talk a little about changing, about trying something new, and forcing ourselves in to do the thing... When you can no longer NOT do it, then you will do it. Lean in to trust and abundance and release whatever shame you feel about not doing it, because it will start to eat at you. If you’re wallowing in shame, you’re not going to feel joy—and we need your joy. It is so necessary, and so contagious.

I have always been fascinated by dancers—their ownership and embodiment of emotion through movement, how they meld strength and control to create gracefulness. In a way, yoga is how I found dance and the freedom to move in my own body, which always felt so tall, so lean, so stiff. 

I brought Shelby Tagge on today because I wanted to get to know Shelby, the person, not just Shelby, the brand. Shelby speaks so clearly and deliberately, it’s the way she shares reflects her openness and feelings of enough-ness. She puts it this way: nobody cares about you, or anybody other than themselves, and that’s a good thing. Use this to your advantage. Do whatever you want to do, be whatever you want to be. Have the audacity.

As this month draws to a close, I’ve had some time to contemplate change. October has always been a month of change for me. The world shifts, leaves turn and fall… witnessing these moments of change feels holy to me. In nature, yes, but also in people, in relationships, in thought processes.

October marks the anniversary of my children’s father moving out, so I wanted to have a conversation about the steps to separation, consciously. I’m not an expert, but I do have experience. There is no one “right” way, there are many ways. All are worth celebrating. Here is mine.
