  • 3 Simple Tips to Manage and Overcome Panic Attacks for Good

Have you ever had a panic attack in an unexpected place and felt completely overwhelmed?

I know how debilitating and overwhelming panic attacks can be. When I had my first panic attack, I was completely blindsided. I was convinced that I was about to pass out or that something catastrophic was about to happen. I had no idea what was going on, and I was absolutely terrified.

Like many people who experience panic attacks for the first time, I started frantically trying to figure out what was wrong. Was it a heart issue? A blood sugar problem? Some kind of medical emergency?

I was grasping at straws, and the more I tried to understand what was happening, the more anxious and panicked I became.

During a panic attack, your brain is suddenly flooded with adrenaline. The adrenaline surge kickstarts the fight or flight response. It's a natural survival mechanism, but it can also be the very thing that perpetuates the cycle of panic.

In this episode, I share 3 simple strategies that will help you manage and ultimately overcome panic attacks for good.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Intro (00:00)
    • Personal panic attack experience (00:14)
    • Understanding panic attack mechanics (03:31)
    • Re-labeling panic attacks (04:32)
    • Impact of adrenaline surges (06:39)
    • Nervous system sensitization (08:40)
    • Importance of doctor consultations (10:26)

  • This One Shift is the Key to Long-Term Anxiety Recovery

One of the questions I get asked the most in the anxiety recovery journey is if there’s one "hack" or "trick" for long-term freedom.

As someone who has struggled with anxiety, I can say with certainty that the key to long-term recovery is not to focus solely on making the symptoms go away but rather to make the decision to live your life fully despite their presence.

When I was in the throes of my own anxiety struggle, I made the mistake of trying every possible "hack" or "trick" to relieve my symptoms - breathing techniques, yoga, meditation, medication, supplements, you name it.

But nothing seemed to work, and over time, I became so hyper-focused on how I was feeling that I stopped living altogether.

The turning point came when I decided to live with my symptoms side by side. Instead of trying to fix or fight the anxiety, panic attacks, digestive issues, and other physical sensations, I simply brought them along as I went about my daily activities.

This shift in mindset was critical - I realized that recovery is not an "all or nothing" proposition and that progress happens gradually, with ups and downs along the way.

Tune in to this episode to learn how to apply this approach in your own anxiety recovery journey!

    Key Takeaways:

    • One tip for recovery (00:00)
    • Living with symptoms (00:47)
    • Importance of education (01:12)
    • Making a firm decision (01:59)
    • Positive self-talk (03:00)
    • Recovery is solely in your hands (03:57)
    • The biggest hack for overcoming anxiety (07:35)

  • Is It Anxiety or Something Worse? 6 Ways to Tell

We've all felt anxious at times. But what if the anxiety is constant, causing mysterious physical symptoms and leaving you feeling disconnected from reality?

You might wonder if it's something more serious.

Many people with anxiety pinpoint a panic attack as the beginning of their struggles. These attacks are terrifying and can make you feel like danger lurks around every corner. Such a heightened state of alert can lead to misinterpreting normal physical sensations as threats.

Sometimes, after a battery of tests, doctors rule out medical conditions and land on "anxiety" as the culprit. This can be frustrating, but it also offers an opportunity to focus on managing anxiety rather than searching for a physical cause.

In this episode, I’ll explain the mind-body connection in anxiety and offer 6 ways to tell if what you're experiencing is anxiety or something else.

    Tune in now!

    Key Takeaways:

    • Identifying anxiety vs. other conditions (00:00)

    • Consulting psychologists or psychiatrists (06:45)

  • Hidden Link Between Anxiety and Intelligence

If you're struggling with intense anxiety symptoms, panic attacks, scary intrusive thoughts, depersonalization, and derealization, you probably ask yourself, "Why do I feel like my mind is working against me?" or "Why can't I just enjoy life like everyone else?"

But you must have heard that very smart people often struggle with anxiety – it's a common topic on social media. So maybe it's time to ask yourself, "Is this happening because I'm too smart?"

    Just kidding, of course.

But there is some truth to it – actually, there is a link between intelligence and anxiety. Intelligent people often overthink and come up with the worst-case scenarios, which can definitely lead to anxiety.

But I have good news: your high IQ isn't the problem. And that’s exactly what I'm talking about in this episode.

If you join me, I’ll explain why being intelligent doesn't have to mean being anxious. Actually, the whole point is to learn how to use your intelligence as a strength instead of a source of stress.

So let's discover how to turn your intelligence into an ally against anxiety.

    Tune in now!

    Key Takeaways:

    • Intelligence and anxiety correlation (00:00)

  • I Finally Beat Decades of Anxiety – Tricia Kirkish's Recovery Journey

Tricia Kirkish battled anxiety for decades. It all began during her college years and gradually worsened until she ended up experiencing "air hunger" (not being able to take a deep breath) for three days straight.

It was so scary that she went to the ER several times, but doctors kept assuring her that her oxygen levels were 100%.
