As the year comes to a close, I wanted to record something a little different for this final episode of Online Store Success.
This isn’t a strategy episode.
It’s a pause.
A chance to slow down, reflect on the year that’s been, and look ahead with a bit more clarity and intention before everything ramps up again.
If this year stretched you emotionally, mentally, or financially, you’re not alone. It’s been a big year for many e-commerce founders, and in this episode I invite you to gently reflect on what actually worked, what felt heavy, and how you want your business and life to feel in the year ahead.
This episode isn’t about setting revenue targets or pushing harder.
It’s about closing the year intentionally and creating space for a more aligned next chapter.
In this episode, I talk about:
• Why this year felt heavier than usual for many small business owners
• How to reflect on what worked without judgement
• Identifying what drained your energy, time, or cash flow
• Shifting focus from revenue goals to how you want your business to feel
• What I’m seeing work right now inside my mastermind clients’ businesses
• Why simplifying your product range and focusing on hero products matters
• Creating a more easeful, sustainable sales and marketing engine
• Protecting your energy through better systems, support, and operations
A gentle reflection as you listen:
As you listen, I invite you to sit with these questions:
• What actually worked for you this year?
• What felt heavy or misaligned?
• How do you want your business and life to feel next year?
There’s no pressure to have perfect answers. This episode is simply about noticing, acknowledging, and closing the year with intention.

I recently joined Jaryd Krause on his podcast to chat about what it really takes to scale an eCommerce business and sell it successfully.
We unpacked my journey building iland co., a fashion brand I started from scratch while raising a young family, working full time, and living overseas. What started as a side project turned into a seven figure global brand with customers and stockists around the world.
In this chat, Jaryd and I talk about what happens behind the scenes of scaling an eCommerce business, the lessons I learned from my first failed exit attempt, and how I eventually secured an all cash sale to an outside buyer.
Here’s a quick peek at what we cover:
✔️ The two biggest mistakes brands make when trying to jump from six to seven figures
✔️ Why scaling too fast can backfire (and how to know when to pause)
✔️ The real process of selling your business (and what happens when a deal falls through)
✔️ How to align your business growth with your long term goals
If you’re an eCommerce founder dreaming of scaling, selling, or simply building a business with real value, this one’s for you.
🎧 Tune in and get an inside look at how to scale strategically and prepare for a successful sale.

So often, I hear from founders who feel frustrated that their products just aren’t selling the way they’d hoped, even though they know the product itself is great. And more often than not, the missing piece isn’t the product at all, it’s the content of the visuals.
Because visuals are more than “pretty pictures.” The right content tells a story, shows your product in context, and makes it easy for your customer to imagine themselves using it. That’s what builds trust and gets someone to click “add to cart.”
To explore this, I sat down with stylist and creative director Sandra Chau. Sandra began her career as a lawyer, then moved into the wedding industry, and eventually found her true calling in brand styling. Today, she’s based in Sydney and works with e-commerce brands across the world, from luxury bedding to minimalist swimwear, helping them create visuals with intention, clarity and selling power.
In this episode, Sandra and I chat about:
Why the content of your visuals matters more than the aesthetic alone
How lifestyle-driven imagery helps your customer connect and feel confident to buy
The mistakes founders often make with product photography, and how to fix them
What brands like Nimble Activewear and DISSH are doing right with their visuals
Simple, practical ways to start creating content-rich imagery that resonates with your audience and converts
Sandra’s approach is about clarity, not complication. You don’t need a huge budget or endless photoshoots. You need visuals with a clear story, created intentionally for your customer, so they do the heavy lifting in your marketing.
If you’ve ever felt like your photos “look nice” but don’t seem to move the needle, this episode will show you how to rethink your visuals as strategic content that actually sells.
