Darcy realized early on in life that the best way to get what she wanted and keep everyone happy was being secretive. This set a pattern that continued throughout her adult life that led her to not only do things secretly but also manipulatively. The cycle continued for years and tore down her relationships, her self-worth, and her joy for life.
