Ask and you shall receive! Molly joins the podcast as a “real mom” from our community with her compelling story. She gives details on advocating for herself in the delivery room (with the help of her doula Amy :)), tips for protecting her peace on social media while struggling with PCOS and infertility, where she sets boundaries and allows for space with inlaws and family members and how she and her husband work through their partnership challenges.
There is a little something for EVERY HERself listener and we are so lucky to have such a vulnerable interview that will inspire you in your roles.

“Come on, we never hang out anymore. What would one drink hurt?”
The pressure around drinking is still relevant for many women in our community. For some it’s not an issue where others feel the heaviness of saying ‘yes’ out of obligation even though their gut is saying “no”.
In this episode with Michelle Smith from @recoveryisthenewblack, we dive into all things mommy wine culture and how to be a better friend or stand up for yourself. Michelle is an author, educator and engaging TEDx speaker and has used her personal experience and work as a substance abuse counselor to support people on their journey to recovery.
This is a judgment free episode. Listen with an open mind and an open heart on where you can make small changes in your life to do and feel your best.

We brought back Molly Millwood’s episode this week! Molly was our first author to join the podcast and our first book club author for HERself. Her message is an important one for any stage of motherhood and is one of our most listened to episodes to date.
If you have read her incredible book To Have and To Hold: Motherhood, Marriage, and the Modern Dilemma...you know how powerful her words are. It is both freeing and validating for women in the throes of one of life’s biggest transitions: motherhood.

Eve Rodsky joins the podcast to talk on the unfair division of household labor. As women, we are doing ⅔ of the work at home… even for those who have working roles outside the home. And it’s up to us to change the script within our own homes to help our next generation see a new way of playing fair.
Learn and unlearn with us on this important conversation this week! A great one to bring back to your partner and start implementing right away.

Brooke from @nutrition.for.mamas gives our audience the information we wish we had years ago in regards to nutrition, food freedom, and body image. As a registered dietitian who has struggles with insecurities in the past, Brooke speaks in a way that is warm, inviting, but also has the facts. If you are looking at where to start with intuitive eating, how to prevent binges, and also some easy grab and go meal and snack ideas, we cover it all this week.
Thank you for all that you do for your own community at @the.mama.well and for bringing that information to our listeners too!

If you have been around here for a while, you know we are always learning and growing. Through taking courses, listening to podcasts, and reading books, we are able to infuse new information into our lives every day.
And this week we learned something new from @estherperelofficial and it sparked the idea for this podcast. It’s easy to fall into seeing the world only through your own lens but understanding the full picture is beneficial for everyone. And it starts with replacing the old “how was your day” questions with new and improved questions that we list out in the episode. The awareness of the story behind the story can go a long way at creating successful relationships.
Forward progress friends, learning and growing right alongside you!

We read Nedra Glover Tawwab’s book “Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself” as a group in our Patreon Book Club a few months ago. Together we learned where we can improve on our “no” responses to give more power to the “YES!”.
And today, we dive into the details of her book and boundaries in general. We have answers to the family member who gives you the guilt trip, the friend who keeps testing the limits, and also with finding the power within yourself to make the changes with boundaries needed in the first place.
@nedratawwab has been on our dream guest list since the very beginning of the podcast and we can’t wait to hear your takeaways from her episode!

Jess from @ourmamavillage joins the podcast this week to inspire our listeners. As a registered psychotherapist and mother, she teaches parents how to respond to children with gentleness and respect. If you’re feeling the pressure to have the perfect script and the correct answer right when the tough discussions come up, this episode welcomes you with some peace of mind. Toddler meltdowns happen. Differences in parenting are common. But finding ways to compromise and reflect inwardly can make these little people years go by far more smoothly for your entire family.
Thank you Jess for leaving our community with so many valuable takeaways. We have a feeling this one will be reshared for weeks and months to come because it’s the information we ALL need to feel confident and calm in this parenting game!!
