Grab your tiara, because we’re starting this episode with a throwback to The Princess Diaries (yes, Julie Andrews is still iconic!). But it's not all PJs and nostalgia here—we’re diving deep into why women aren’t just mini-men. Get ready for hormone fluctuations, cycle phases, and tips on syncing your life with your inner rhythm.
We're breaking down how men’s 24-hour cycles make it easier for them to follow rigid routines, while women’s Infradian rhythms give us that cyclical flair. If you’ve ever felt like your partner can go full beast mode while you're just trying not to punch someone during PMS—this episode is for you. Spoiler: It’s not your fault. It’s your biology.
Whether you’re navigating menstrual emotions, feeling the energy of your follicular phase, or need a reminder to book that self-care appointment during luteal—we’ve got you. Tune in and start living with your cycle, not against it.
Topics Covered:
→Differences between men’s and women’s biological rhythms
→The 28-day Infradian rhythm and its four phases
→How hormone shifts impact women’s energy, mood, and routine
→3 of our FAVORITE tips for each phase: menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, luteal
→Importance of honoring your body’s changing needs
→Self-care and why it’s crucial during the luteal phase
→Real-life stories about syncing life with the cycle

This is an important distinction because if you are planning to give birth at home or in a birth center, your birth wishes may or may not look different. If you're giving birth in the future and need some inspiration, this episode is perfect for you!!

Our conversation is deeply rooted in the compassion we hold for our relatives affected by this devastating disease, such as our beloved cousin and uncle. We acknowledge that opinions on IVF and scientific interventions can differ, and we kindly ask listeners with opposing views to respect Julie's decision. It is her body, her life, and her family's journey. We aim to cultivate an environment where all choices are respected, and we hope for mutual respect for our decisions as well. In this heartfelt episode, Carly opens up about her 13-month breastfeeding journey as a work-from-home mom. She feels incredibly fortunate to have been able to stay home with her baby, avoid the challenges of pumping excess supply, and receive unwavering support from her husband.
Carly recognizes that this set of circumstances played a crucial role in her breastfeeding experience. However, she also deeply empathizes with moms who face different realities, such as returning to work quickly, navigating daycare, and pumping in excess to be able to provide breastmilk to their children while they are not with them.
We are passionate about addressing the issue that the modern mom often finds herself struggling as societal pressures overshadow the importance of trusting her own instincts. While doctors play a crucial role, it's imperative for us to reclaim our innate power and intuition in nurturing and raising our children. Our style of parenting is responsive, adapting to each child's unique needs and reminding us that the ultimate guide to what is best lies within ourselves.
Each mother's journey is uniquely her own, shaped by a myriad of factors and circumstances. Our podcast and this episode aim to inspire and uplift all mothers, encouraging them to embrace breastfeeding, co-sleeping, and baby-led weaning with joy and confidence if they feel called to do so. Above all, it's a reminder to trust your intuition and do what feels right for you and your child, free from comparison. We're here to support you, heart and soul, on your beautiful journey.
We hope to create a culture and community of mommas who feel empowered and educated by their choices, no matter what they are.
