Today Mary is joined by Jenny Jay, a storyteller and creator and her experiences and education over the last 7 years has become integral to the content that she writes, creates, and shares. Add that to her lived experiences as a South Asian woman with experiences with in/visible disability, living unhoused and without financial security, and existing in her other identities. She recognizes the difference it makes when stories are shared in a way that recognizes your community and validates their experiences. Together, Jenny truly believes that we can make spaces — online, in our media, in our conversations, and in our businesses, spaces for change.

Jenny’s land acknowledgment from her email signature:
The Double Jay Collective Inc., was founded on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. More specifically, this land is covered by a historic treaty, the Ajetance Treaty [Treaty 19] signed in October of 1818, where the Mississauga Nation of the River Credit and Sixteen Mile Creeks surrendered their land and is the only treaty [known of] named after an Indigenous community member. It is important to recognize the layers & circumstances that lead to this signing, and that this land is still home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
While land acknowledgements allow us to engage in ongoing reconciliation by reflecting on the physical space we are on, as a company, our work now takes place in a combination of physical and virtual spaces. To continue to prioritize and centre reconciliation we will always encourage our team, clients, and community to take the time to learn about the lands they are currently on. You can do so, here.

Remember: your relationship with food and your body is a reflection of how you lead your life. Do you want everything to be structured, rigid, and obsessive OR would you prefer a little more freedom, flow, and inner peace?

Eating disorder recovery is a journey, and sometimes old patterns will show up even after you're fully recovered. Let's talk about 5 disordered habits you might still be doing (despite knowing better) and how to stop doing them. These subtle behaviors are often framed as “normal” in our culture, but in reality, they’re leftover patterns from diet culture. Whether you’ve been in eating disorder recovery for years or are just beginning to heal your relationship with food and your body, it’s important to notice these sneaky habits so you can break free from them once and for all.
Mary talks about the common ways women internalize harmful beauty standards and how those beliefs show up in everyday choices. From body-checking to moralizing food, these eating disorder behaviors might feel second nature, but they don’t serve your self love journey. Recovery is about unlearning toxic patterns and choosing self love, compassion, and confidence instead.
Take a moment to reflect: Which of these 5 eating disorder habits are you still holding onto? Becoming aware is the first step toward true healing and building a positive mindset around food, body image, and self love.

In honor of my birthday and Aquarius season, I interviewed my retreat sister, dear friend, and amazing astrologer Blyss Veer on how we can use astrology to gain insight into ourselves and harness it for self-love. We also touch on big philosophical topics like grief and the human condition because it’s all related!
Although I’ve always felt very connected to my zodiac sign, I was still a bit skeptical because it felt overwhelming and I didn’t really know the science behind it. Blyss changed all of that for me and she’s about to do the same for you.
In this episode, Blyss teaches us about…
... And truly so much more because astrology is philosophical and can go as deep as you want to explore it!
If you’ve been enjoying the podcast and being a part of this community, the best birthday gift EVER would be some positive feedback on the show. In this episode, Mary talks with Whitney Goodman, a licensed psychotherapist, about the harmful effects of toxic positivity. We’ve all heard it, seen it, and experienced it! You know, when someone totally invalidates your feelings and tells you to “just think positive!” It’s so not helpful!
Whitney shares with us about...
Remember: “Happiness and positivity have become both a goal and an obligation.” But you don’t have to feed into that...

In today’s episode, Mary takes a moment to chat about self-judgment. Has judging yourself really brought you any good?
You will learn...
How to notice the ways you are judging yourself.
What’s really going on when you’re judging others.
Self-compassion is more productive than blaming, shaming or judging yourself.
Remember: The litmus test for self-judgment: would you judge someone else, like your sister or daughter or friend, for this same exact thing as harshly? You are doing the best you can.
