The gorgeous beauty editor Perdita is back and this week she's been researching dark showers, chatting to one of the world's most iconic makeup artists and trying out a brand new brain massage!!
In this week's Outspoken Review I'm talking about the dry shampoo that basically washes your hair, the barrier cream that is great for rosacea and sandwiching with your retinoid, an amazing French shampoo that gives great volume and lots more.
I'll also be reflecting on a brilliant panel event I went to at the Houses of Parliament this morning. It was led by Dermalogica who are making incredible changes in the microneedling world.
Enjoy the episode and let me know if there's anything that you'd like me to review for you. Find me on Instagram @outspokenbeautynicola.
The utterly fabulous Bryony Blake is back for our fortnightly dose of fun and beauty.
In this week's Outspoken Review I'm reflecting on the wonderful launch of Dr Marine Vincent's utterly brilliant book "The French Skincare Bible", which I attended last night.
The event was really joyful and there were so many brilliant people there, many of whom I hadn't seen in ages. It was paticularly nice to catch up with the lovely Dr Emma Craythorne and her friend and colleague Dr Ellie Rashid. Ellie and I had a long and really interesting chat about PDRN ake Polynucleotides aka salmon sperm dna in skincare and I'll be going into detail about it during the episode.
I'll also talk through some of my favourite French pharmacy products that were in my beautiful goody bag and why I love them.
I hope you enjoy this episode :0)
I have received SO many messages about constipation recently that I thought it would be useful to chat about where I'm at and the kinds of things I'm doing to help get things moving. I know that this is a bit of a gross subject matter but it's also such a common problem, particularly it seems amongst women over 40!
Remember that I'm not an expert and am only sharing what I've learnt from experts I've spoken to. If you have any concerns about your own helath, please promise me you'll speak to your GP.
In this episode I welcome one of my favourite people in the beauty industry back on the podcast. Sam Farmer founded his teenage skincare and hygiene brand after being disappointed by the types of products that were on offer for his own children when they were teenagers. He shunned sexist packaging, language and harsh ingredients for a unisex brand with the very best and teenage skin appropriate formulations. The result is the perfect collection of products for young adults that is in my opinion by far the best on the market.
During the episode, Sam and I talk about his brand story and about what teenagers really need in order to have the best possible skin. We chat about ingredients, formulations and why Sam feels a responsibility to make products that over deliver.
This is a really great conversation with a man who has dedicated years to not only creating a brand but to studying cosmetic science and understanding teenage skin. If you have a teenager and you're unsure about how to navigate their skincare then this is 100% the episode for you.
In this week's Outspoken Review I'm talking you through some of the newest beauty products that have caught my attention including a really innovative leg oil, a delicious summer fragrance and a new bronzer from Victoria Beckham.
In this incredible episode I'm chatting to master perfumer Quentin Bisch and the founder of his eponymous brand, fashion designer and fragrance creator Marc-Antoine Barrois.
Quentin has worked with Marc-Antoine over the last ten years to create some of the most incredible fragrances that I've ever experienced. In that time they've not only worked together but have become great friends.
During this episode I'm exploring their relationship, how their similar tastes, experiences and magical way of seeing the world have influenced the fragrances that they have created. We also get an amazing insight into the mind of one of the best perfumers in the world.
The episode was recorded the morning after a mind-blowing night celebrating the launch of Marc-Antoine's newest fragrance, B87.135 Extrait, which is a Harrods Exclusive. It's fascinating to hear from Quentin and Marc-Antoine about the inspiration for this fragrance and so many more in the collection.
What an honour to spend time with these two brilliant men.
In this week's OSB Review I'm answering your brilliant questions about empowering perfume, the best bottom lash mascara, body moisturisers and HRT amongst others.

In this week's episode I'm chatting to my lovely friend Cherry Healey who has been incredibly brave recently and shared her UTI story publicly, even going to parliament and talking openly about her struggles in a room filled with MPs. Cherry has lived with chronic UTI's since she was a child and as you'll hear, at one point it led to her being hospitalised and almost getting sepsis.
Cherry is joined by Extracted founder Toni Waterfall. Together they have formulated supplements to help women manage and keep UTI's at bay. They're also on a mission to educate women and society in general. UTI's aren't just another "put up and shut up" element of being a woman, they can be incredibly serious and must be taken more seriously.
This is such a brilliant and powerful episode and I can't wait for you to hear Cherry's story.
