I spent so much time on internet searches and social media, trying to figure it all out — how to get our daughter tested for dyslexia, where to find the right remediation, what accommodations work for her, when and how to tell her she was dyslexic, and how to protect her self-esteem through it all. Honestly, it took a huge toll on our family — and my sanity!   I finally realized that if I was going to keep my sanity and help my daughter thrive in this new dyslexia lifestyle, I had to trust my intuition about what was best for her and our family. I had done all the research, read all the books, and found a way to connect with my daughter, building a strong mother-daughter relationship that would outlive her school years.  Of course, I have my fair share of bumps, bruises, and wrong turns along our journey, but one thing is constant - my love for my daughter, and that I can do this (figure out dyslexia and be the best mom to my daughter)!
