This weeks episode is with Sophie, the person behind instagram's @sober_and_happy and also someone who I consider a friend. Sophie, like me, is celebrating 4 years of sobriety in April 2023. We were connected very early on in our sober journey's and we've been in and out of contact up until several months ago, when we became proper mates. Sophie's story is so relatable; starting with drinking in her teens to getting regularly blackout drunk. She is warm, direct, charismatic and full of wisdom. I hope you enjoy the episode.

This episode is with Jo E from London. Jo is 7 months sober at the time of this recording. Jo is a nurse who is just about to complete her masters in Professional Practice. The daughter of a teetotal mother and an alcoholic father, Jo references a chaotic relationship with alcohol starting like many of us, in her teenage years. Jo recently suffered from bouts of anxiety and depression on top of being peri-menopausal which plays a big role in getting sober. She is into festivals, running, yoga and is embracing sobriety (and all its benefits) with both hands. I hope you enjoy the episode!

This week I am chatting to Susannah in Hampshire, England, who turned sober 9 months on the day of recording. After some traumatic events during her 20's and early 30's, Susannah's drinking slowly increased from weekend fun drinking to wine after the kids had gone to sleep. This gradual increase meant that moderation was always a big focus and feeling lethargic and below average every day became the norm. Susannah found her way into sobriety via local AA meetings and listening to podcasts. She is thoroughly open and honest, and has a story of strength following loss and trauma that will be inspiring to many. Happy listening!

TRIGGER WARNING This weeks conversation is with Pearl from London who has just turned 1 year sober! Pearl has been through many ups and downs in her early life and like many of us, used alcohol on and off to cope when things got difficult. Pearl's story contains topics that some listenings might find triggering, including talking about potential parental suicide. Pearl is energetic, brave, positive and inspiring. She talks openly and from the heart. I hope you love the chat as much as I did.

This week I am chatting to Callum in London who is 4.5 years sober at the point of recording this show. Callum is an actor and Musician who had a fairly typical relationship with alcohol in his teens and twenties. After a health scare that sent him into hospital and gave him a bleak prognosis, he had no choice but to remove alcohol and get sober. Thankfully his health has dramatically improved and he is getting stronger and happier every day. Callum is brutally honest and so relatable; I hope you enjoy this wisdom-packed episode.

This week I chat to Jodi from Nottinghamshire who was 107 days sober at the time of recording. Jodi discusses how like many of us, she got into drinking as a teenager by raiding her parents booze cupboard with friends. Jodi recalls how everyone around her was drinking the same way and no one questioned if it was bad, or creating issues. Following some fertility issues after her first child, she medicated her trauma with wine. It was a target of losing some weight after lockdown that spurred her into her alcohol free journey, which she is fully embracing and thriving in. I hope you enjoy the episode.

In this episode I speak to Irene from Scotland who had a ‘normal’ relationship with alcohol during her teens and twenties. She noticed it got a bit darker in her thirties before quitting at just over 41 years old. As Irene gets ready to celebrate her first Christmas without alcohol and her impending December birthday, she reflects on the change’s sobriety has brought her. Irene is grateful, strong and fiercely committed to a life free of alcohol moving forward. She is a gem and very easy to relate to. Happy listening!
