As people, we are obsessed with equality. You can clearly see this obsession on an individual and a social level. After all, the vast majority of social rights movements are about this. Equality is a value we hold as dear as freedom. But what if it is only our ego that is concerned with equality? More than that, what if equality is a complete illusion?

Your child is the progression of your consciousness. A child’s consciousness comes into life as the culmination of the consciousness accrued at that time of both its mother and father. This is one way that consciousness expands in our universe. The purpose of children is not just the expansion of universal consciousness; it is also the expansion of our consciousness as parents.

The idea of incest sends shivers up our spine, so it is understandable how so many of us would rather deny that sexual feelings exist between parents and children. But the truth is, though not every one is effected by it to the same degree, the Oedipus complex is alive and well within all of us. And until we recognize its patterns, and accept them, we are doomed to neurotically repeat the same pattern in all of our relationships that we originally had with our parents.

Desire has been a big topic of controversy within the spiritual community. Spiritual teachers (Like the Buddha) say that desire is the root of suffering. They say that happiness is the result of learning how to rid oneself of desire. But even the desire to rid yourself of desire, is a desire. So you can never truly rid yourself of desire and you can never lie to yourself enough to convince yourself that you don’t want what you want. So why is it that thousands of people have experienced relief from supposedly ridding themselves of desire?

Dreams are a direct reflection of what is going on with you vibrationally. The things you’ve been thinking and the feelings you’ve been feeling in your waking life and what manifests in your reality are always a match. Your dreams are always a vibrational match to what you’ve been thinking and feeling as well. Anything you focus on or pay attention to could manifest as a dream. Because you have no resistance in your sleep, you are not tensing yourself against the conditions of your life or condemning yourself or pretending things are different than they are and so you are able to see the reflection of your vibration exactly as it is

Narcissism finds its roots in Greek mythology. Narcissus was a man who fell in love with his own image when it was reflected in a pool of water. In today’s terms, narcissism means to derive gratification from vanity or egotistical admiration of one’s own attributes. It is seen as a form of self-defeating pride. But I, for one completely disagree with this view of narcissism. There is nothing innately wrong with a Narcissus. Adoring one’s own reflection, deriving gratification from admiring oneself is in fact healthy. It is much healthier than being critical of oneself or striving to be self less (which is actually not possible). But our culture, which has been heavily influenced for thousands of years by biblical Christianity, recognizes self-love as vanity and ultimately as pride, which is one of the original seven sins. And so, sadly, narcissus has become the poster child not only for self-love, but also for pride. As a result, we confuse self-love with selfishness, when they are drastically different things.

Morality is about principles, fundamental truths or propositions that serve as the foundation for a system of belief, behavior or chain of reasoning. Morals are principals concerning the rightness and wrongness or goodness and badness of behavior. What is the problem with this?

The idea that spirituality and money can't co exist and that there is something ethically wrong with turning spirituality into a business is a sacred idea to many of us. We take it as so much of a truth; that we are unwilling to question it fully. In actuality, assigning value to your offering on a spiritual level is no different than assigning a value to an item that is totally unrelated to spirituality because the item is no less spiritual than your spiritual work is. Physical, material things are not separate from source energy. They are not separate from spirit. They are extensions of spirit. What does this mean? Money too is an extension of spirit; so it is a misunderstanding to say that money and spirituality is a contradiction.
