Naturally, because we're humans and crave affection, we're going to wonder how and when we'll find love again after divorce. I wondered it, and I hear from women on a daily basis who are worried they won't be able to let go and find love again.
Of course you can find love again after divorce, but there's a process to it, and Relationship Expert Sofia Robirosa joined us on this episode to break it all down for us.
Sofia has worked with couples and individuals for over a decade now. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, she has helped endless people rekindle their relationships and also find confidence to find love again on their own.
"When it comes to working with my clients, my ultimate goal is not to create an ongoing dependency but to empower them to sustain the gains they make autonomously. I give singles and couples the tangible tools they need so that they can leave my office with confidence that they can achieve their dreams on their own." - Sofia Robirosa, LMFT

Regardless of whether you wanted the divorce or if it was sprung on you at the last minute, it's common to wake up in the aftermath of your broken marriage feeling, well, sh*tty. It's normal, but it doesn't have to last forever.
You do NOT have to feel like a failure, you CAN lose the guilt, and you WILL move on happily and with love in your heart - it just takes a little work.
Here to help us with this work is Self Worth & Confidence Coach Danielle Stoltz. She is empowering, real, and gives GREAT advice when it comes to finding value in yourself after a divorce.

Pop Quiz: What's the fastest way to drive yourself insane as a co-parent? Yup, you guessed right - it's trying to control what you can't: Such as, all of the things your child does when they're not with you. Sure, it feels completely unnatural as a mom to have no say over what goes on with the child you grew in your body when they're not with you, but, hate to break it to you, that's co-parenting. As long as your kids are safe and out of harm's way, then you need to back off before you make yourself nuts.
In this incredibly informative episode of Moms Moving On, we have Clinical Psychologist Dr. Erika Velez of The Mindful Corner giving us the tools to let go and let live - a co-parent's greatest secret weapon.
Dr. Erika Velez received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Child Psychology, where my interest in the parent-child dyad grew. She is located in Miami Lakes, Florida and also host an incredible podcast herself! The Mindful Corner is a series of candid conversations with everyday individuals from all walks of life, who share real life stories of the human experience. Guests share their accounts of struggles and triumphs through life's challenges while keeping mindfulness and mental health at the core of each conversation.

Parenting in a 2-parent household is hard enough, but imagine you're doing it all on your own - while locked in your house with no more "village" to rely on. Yup, that's single parenting in quarantine - and it has been growing increasingly harder for parents all over the world as we continue spending an unusual amount of time in our homes.
If you're worried you're messing up your kids, not giving them enough of your time, and using the iPad as your co-parent, not to worry. In this episode I interviewed Evelyn Mendal, LMHC - an early childhood expert with an impressive amount of experience. Evelyn's insight can make even the most stressed out parent take a step back and give themselves a little grace, because you deserve nothing more than a break.
Evelyn is the founder of Hatch & Bloom, the company she founded to be able to help parents through their children's earliest stages of life. She offers 1:1 sessions, group sessions, and workshops/webinars that will make you feel like you aren't totally messing up this whole parenting thing.

In Episode 9 of Moms Moving On Podcast, we talk to "Ten Steps to Finding Happy" author Lindsay S. Weisner , Psy.D, about our feelings post-divorce. "It's okay to not feel good, and feel like garbage," Lindsay says, because that's reality and you have to honor your feelings. But how do we feel happy again?
The first step, according to this podcast, is to choose to find happy, and we couldn't agree more. Listen now for the rest of the steps and a truly insightful conversation on the idea of happiness.
Dr. Lindsay Weisner is a psychologist, the host of the Neurotic Nourishment Podcast, and a blogger for Psychology Today. Dr. Weisner graduated from Georgetown University in 1999 and was awarded a fellowship in Child and Family Development with the NIH after graduation. She received her doctorate in 2005 and went on to pursue her post-doctorate education at the American Institute of Psychoanalysis. Dr. Weisner lives in New York with her husband, two children, and two cats who are obsessed with sitting on the computer every moment that inspiration occurs.

You've been with the same partner for years. Your fittest days peaked way before you birthed a few kids. Now you're breaking up, getting divorced, or adjusting to being single again with less than stellar confidence levels. AND worse, you're faced with the gut-wrenching thought of having to be naked in front of someone new after ALL THIS TIME. Ugh!
I get it. For me, this podcast interview with Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Catie Lynch, is personal. Having struggled with my own body issues and eating disorder for years, nothing sparked these bad behaviors up again quite like getting divorced. I placed way too much emphasis on the physical parts of me, convincing myself that I had to be as skinny as possible again in order to find a new relationship.
This was not smart, yet so many of us revert to this thought process in times of stress. The incredible Catie Lynch, who works with countless women on their struggles with body image and eating disorders, helps us all see past the physical, and focus on what really matters - the unique beauty of what makes you, you.
Connect with Catie, here, and learn more about how you can work with her.

Think mediation isn't for you? Think again. Aside from helping you save money, mediation has more benefits than you may realize.
This week's guest, mediator Dori Schwirtz breaks down the all of the benefits of mediation for us in a way that makes this process seems like a no-brainer. As a non-practicing Attorney, Dori is the ultimate referee between divorcing partners, as she helps them achieve peace throughout a really tumultuous time. Statistics show that when two parties have the right to make their own agreement, they are more likely to see the agreement through to the end, unlike in a case where the judge decides for them.
Dori has been featured in Forbes, US News, Chicago Tribune, the Daily News, and more. You can connect with her here for more information about the mediation process, and don't forget to check out her great Instagram account, @divorceharmony. Enjoy!
