When you’re trying to stop overeating, do you hold on tight and think you should avoid failing at any cost?
If this is what you’ve tried in the past, you probably know by now that it doesn’t work, and it’s certainly not sustainable.
Yet most of us think our goal in life is to do anything to avoid failing.
When we learn anything that’s new to us and our brains, we need to know that failing is a part of learning.
The big mistake you make when you fail is not the mistake itself. It is your assumption that failing means there is something wrong with you. And that you did something ‘bad’. With thoughts like these, it’s understandable why failing seems like a terrible thing.
Today, we are going to talk about why you need to embrace failure.
Failing is not personal in that it doesn’t mean anything bad about you.
Join me in this coaching session today and learn how moving towards failing, in the right way, will help you reach those goals and feel better along the way.
You can do this!

Be honest. With so many different diets out there and so many plans to choose from, don’t you sometimes wish someone would just give you exact advice about what to eat?
I wouldn’t blame you if you thought that would solve your overeating habits.
But if you’ve listened to me for a while, you know that first we need to relearn when we are hungry and when our bodies have had enough.
Then, we figure out what to eat.
The way you eat, or overeat, comes from your mind. So, your first job is to get reconnected with those signals from your body.
So where does nutritional advice come in?
There certainly are experts in the field of nutrition, like registered Dieticians. They can help you eat in a certain way to solve many physical issues.
After you learn to become a natural eater, that would be the time to learn how to optimize your nutritional intake to have the best health possible for you.
Looking to a nutritional expert to tell you how to lose weight from habits and urges…that is not the right answer. Not yet.
Let’s solve why you are overeating first.

If one of your goals was to take care of yourself and end your overeating, imagine waking up one day and NOT hating the journey! Not dreading your day with all the things you need to do. If you don’t look forward to doing all the ‘hard’ things that you need to do to lose your extra weight, today’s coaching session is for you.
We’re talking about why your weight loss journey feels so hard, and how to make it lighter and easier and actually enjoy it.
Think about how you feel now about working on your own Project You. If you’re like most Freedom Group members when they first join me, you might look at the work you need to do like it’s a burden you need to bear.
Or like: life’s not fair! You may wonder why you struggle, and other women don’t. And you resent what you need to do to change your habits.
If this describes you, we’re going to step back and look at your thoughts that create doubt about yourself and your abilities.
Thoughts that create pessimism about ever accomplishing your goals.
And thoughts that make you feel insecure about your ability to solve your overeating issues.
What if you could stop hating your journey? This is really possible for you.
Your ability and opportunity to work on Project You is a privilege. You GET to work on yourself, you don’t ‘have to’.
Get ready for some game-changing new perspectives that will make your weight loss journey feel so much better.

Do you know how to successfully answer the age-old question: Am I hungry?
You let your inner mean girl come out and you put yourself down for not being perfect. You slipped.
If you eat from body hunger most of the time, I’m guessing that you are a pretty natural eater, and extra weight is not a problem for you.
You instinctively know when to start eating, and when to stop eating.
But some of us are not good at deciphering signals that we get from our mind, and I am calling that head hunger.
You feel something that you have linked to eating. It might be a good feeling or an uncomfortable feeling.
Today’s coaching session is a short and sweet reminder of how to answer, ‘Am I hungry’ and to understand the difference between body hunger and head hunger.
This lesson will start you on the path to knowing when to start eating, and when to stop. And once you know that, you are on your way to freedom from the struggle.

When was the last time you slipped from your eating plan?
You might make excuses for yourself.
Maybe you get upset with yourself.
Or maybe you give up.
I don’t want you to give up or be mad at yourself or pretend that nothing happened.
There is a better way to treat a slip and that’s what we will cover today.

How you talk to yourself matters.
When you think a thought, that thought has the power to create something for you.
What’s critical to know is that even your very own words in your mind, not even spoken out loud, will have an effect on you and how things go for you.
How you describe yourself matters…the words you use when you think of where you are on this journey, of learning to stop overeating. Whether you just did something well or you did something with a bunch of mistakes.
Whatever you say to yourself quietly in your own mind, will register and produce good, neutral or negative feelings.
So, my question to you is: how do you describe how you are and what you’re doing right now in the world of eating and weight?
Are you a hot mess?

Do your friends support your eating goals? Or are they really partners in crime? Listen in today to hear my own story of my former partner in crime.
Today we’re talking about the culture of our friendships.
What happens when you try to swim upstream against the not only diet culture but also your friends’ culture?
And today we’re going to shine the light on how our friends help us make all kinds of eating decisions, some that are helpful and some that are definitely less than helpful. Some that support us and some that lead us down a dark path.
You’d assume that as friends you’d support each other and cheer each other on and help each other say yes or no to things that might help you or hinder your progress.
But your friends might not know how to do this, and I am going to give you some examples of how friend support could work and also how it could turn into each of you supporting the other in jumping ship and giving up on your goals.
Join me as I share my story of my own special long-term friend and how we used to handle supporting each other….or not!
