Fr: Le matin se levait doucement sur les Alpes françaises.
En: The morning was gently rising over the Alpes françaises.

Fr: Le ciel était clair, et la neige fraîche brillait sous le premier rayon de soleil.
En: The sky was clear, and the fresh snow gleamed under the first ray of sunlight.

Fr: Les cloches de Noël tintaient doucement depuis le chalet du village voisin.
En: Christmas bells softly chimed from the chalet of the neighboring village.

Fr: Étienne et Lucie, enfilés dans leurs combinaisons de ski, se tenaient en haut d'une piste vertigineuse.
En: Étienne and Lucie, dressed in their ski suits, stood at the top of a steep slope.

Fr: Étienne n'était pas à l'aise.

Fr: Il fit de son mieux pour la calmer, puis sortit un bandage de son sac pour stabiliser sa jambe.
En: He did his best to calm her, then took a bandage from his bag to stabilize her leg.

Fr: Il savait comment faire : Étienne avait suivi un cours de premiers secours au cas où.
En: He knew how: Étienne had taken a first aid course just in case.

Fr: Finalement, le ski patrouille apparut à l’horizon, alerté par une alerte d'avalanche.
En: Finally, the ski patrol appeared on the horizon, alerted by an avalanche alert.

Fr: Étienne et Lucie furent secourus, enveloppés dans des couvertures chaudes, transportés en lieu sûr.
En: Étienne and Lucie were rescued, wrapped in warm blankets, transported to safety.

Fr: Dans la chaleur du chalet, entourés par des lumières de Noël, Lucie tourna son regard vers Étienne.

Fr: “Merci, Étienne.
En: “Thank you, Étienne.

Fr: Sans toi… je ne sais pas.” Étienne rougit.
En: Without you… I don't know.” Étienne blushed.

Fr: “J’ai eu peur, mais… je ne pouvais pas te laisser.” Lucie sourit doucement.
En: “I was scared, but… I couldn't leave you.” Lucie smiled gently.

Fr: “Je l'ai toujours su.
En: “I always knew.

Fr: Merci d'avoir été courageux.” Étienne réalisa que son hésitation était toujours là, mais la peur pour Lucie l'avait fait agir.
En: Thank you for being brave.” Étienne realized that his hesitation was still there, but his fear for Lucie had made him act.

Fr: “Lucie, je crois… je t’aime.” Lucie rit doucement, ses yeux brillants.
En: “Lucie, I think… I love you.” Lucie laughed softly, her eyes shining.

Fr: “Moi aussi, Étienne.
En: “Me too, Étienne.

Fr: Moi aussi.” Ce Noël, perdu dans les montagnes, ils avaient trouvé quelque chose de précieux.
En: Me too.” This Christmas, lost in the mountains, they had found something precious.

Fr: Étienne n'était plus le même.
En: Étienne was no longer the same.

Fr: Il avait vaincu ses peurs, et ça, c'était le plus beau cadeau.
En: He had conquered his fears, and that was the most beautiful gift.
