Story Transcript:

Sv: I Stockholm, i en park med utsikt över vattnet fanns det en stor grupp människor.
En: In Stockholm, in a park overlooking the water, there was a large group of people.

Sv: Alla hade de festkläder.
En: They all wore festive attire.

Sv: Där stod också Lars och Ingrid.
En: Lars and Ingrid were also there.

Sv: Lars hade ett stort leende och Ingrid såg förväntansfull ut.
En: Lars had a big smile and Ingrid looked expectant.

Sv: Idag skulle Lars lära Ingrid den svenska traditionen med midsommar.
En: Today, Lars would teach Ingrid the Swedish tradition of Midsummer.

Sv: "Låt oss börja med majstången", sa Lars.
En: "Let's start with the maypole," Lars said.

Sv: Han tog banden i hans hand.
En: He took the ribbons in his hand.

Sv: "Man snurrar och snurrar", förklarade han.
En: "You spin and spin," he explained.

Sv: Men så trasslade banden sig i hans armar.
En: But then the ribbons got tangled in his arms.

Sv: Ingrid skrattade och hjälpte honom.
En: Ingrid laughed and helped him.

Sv: Lars blev lite röd i ansiktet, men skrattade tillbaka.
En: Lars blushed a little but laughed back.

Sv: Medan de fixade majstångsbanden såg de midsommardansarna.
En: As they fixed the maypole ribbons, they watched the Midsummer dancers.

Sv: Fina klänningar var på kvinnorna.
En: The women wore beautiful dresses.

Sv: Hattar på männen.
En: The men wore hats.

Sv: Barnen sprang.
En: Children ran around.

Sv: Skratten höjdes.
En: Laughter filled the air.

Sv: Midsommarfesten var börjad.
En: The Midsummer celebration had begun.

Sv: "Nu till sillen och nubben", sa Lars.
En: "Now for the herring and schnapps," Lars said.

Sv: Dom satte ner vid ett bord.
En: They sat down at a table.

Sv: "Det här äts vid midsommar", sa han.
En: "This is what we eat on Midsummer," he said.

Sv: Ingrid smakade.
En: Ingrid took a taste.

Sv: "Mums", sa hon.
En: "Yum," she said.

Sv: Lars var glad.
En: Lars was happy.

Sv: Han ville att Ingrid tycka om midsommar.
En: He wanted Ingrid to enjoy Midsummer.

Sv: Lars visade Ingrid danser runt majstången.
En: Lars showed Ingrid dances around the maypole.

Sv: "Så här", sa han.
En: "Like this," he said.

Sv: Dom dansade, skrattade och sjöng om små grodor.
En: They danced, laughed, and sang songs about little frogs.

Sv: Ingrid lärde sig snabbt.
En: Ingrid learned quickly.

Sv: Lars var imponerad.
En: Lars was impressed.

Sv: Det var en rolig dag.
En: It was a fun day.

Sv: Solen gick ner, men folket blev kvar.
En: The sun went down, but the people stayed.

Sv: "Det är så vi gör", sa Lars.
En: "This is how we do it," Lars said.

Sv: Ingrid såg förvåntad ut.
En: Ingrid looked surprised.

Sv: "Vi firar tills morgon", sa han.
En: "We celebrate until morning," he said.

Sv: Hon nickade och log.
En: She nodded and smiled.

Sv: Ljusen tändes runt parken.
En: Candles were lit around the park.

Sv: Luften var varm.
En: The air was warm.

Sv: Människorna var lyckliga.
En: The people were happy.

Sv: Ingrid och Lars satt på en bänk.
En: Ingrid and Lars sat on a bench.

Sv: "Tack för midsommar", sa Ingrid.
En: "Thank you for Midsummer," Ingrid said.

Sv: Lars log stort.
En: Lars smiled big.

Sv: Han var glad.
En: He was happy.

Sv: Det var den bästa midsommaren han någonsin hade haft.
En: It was the best Midsummer he had ever had.

Sv: Men det bästa av allt, Ingrid hade accepterat den svenska traditionen.
En: But most of all, Ingrid had embraced the Swedish tradition.

Sv: Och så var deras midsommaraventyr slut.
En: And so, their Midsummer adventure ended.

Sv: Även om det började med trassel, slutade det med skratt.
En: Although it started with tangles, it ended with laughter.

Sv: Det var en bra dag i Stockholm, i parken, med Lars och Ingrid.
En: It was a good day in Stockholm, in the park, with Lars and Ingrid.

Sv: Midsommar i Sverige, det är något speciellt.
En: Midsummer in Sweden, it's something special.
