Story Transcript:

En: It was a sunny spring day in the little neighborhood.

Sv: Träden slog ut sina första gröna löv, och påskdekorationerna lyste i pastellfärger runt alla hus.
En: The trees were unfurling their first green leaves, and the påskdekorationerna glowed in pastel colors around all the houses.

En: The scent of chocolate eggs, hidden in the gardens, mixed with the fresh spring rain.

En: Lars, an enthusiastic young man, loved this time of year.

En: He was planning the annual Easter egg hunt for the neighborhood and wanted it to be the best ever.

En: "We're going to have so much fun this year," Lars said to his neighbor Astrid, who was standing by her fence planting flowers.

En: She was always involved in what was happening in the area.

Sv: "Självklart!
En: "Of course!

En: I can hardly wait," replied Astrid with a smile.

En: But there was one neighbor who almost never participated, Johan.

En: He lived in the little yellow house at the end of the street.

En: Johan was shy and didn’t like large crowds.

Sv: Lars hade alltid velat få med honom i gemenskapen.
En: Lars had always wanted to include him in the community.

En: This Easter, he had decided to try again.

Sv: Då hände olyckan.
En: Then the accident happened.

En: While Lars was putting up banners in the park, he stumbled and twisted his ankle.

En: As he sat down on a bench, with pain in his eyes, Astrid came running.

Sv: "Behöver du hjälp, Lars?"
En: "Do you need help, Lars?"

Sv: frågade hon oroligt.
En: she asked worriedly.

Sv: "Jag tror jag har stukat foten.
En: "I think I've sprained my ankle.

En: I don’t know how I'll get everything done in time," replied Lars, looking worriedly at the unfinished preparations.

En: They had a lot left to do, and without Lars, it would be difficult.

Sv: Astrid tänkte ett ögonblick.
En: Astrid thought for a moment.

Sv: "Du vet, Johan är en toppenperson.
En: "You know, Johan is a great person.

Sv: Kanske han kan hjälpa oss?
En: Maybe he can help us?

Sv: Vi kan gå till honom tillsammans."
En: We can go to him together."

En: They then walked, slowly for Lars, to Johan’s house.

En: Johan was standing at his window watching the children who were already starting to play outside with their baskets.

Sv: "Hej Johan," sa Lars från trottoaren, hans röst full av entusiasm trots smärtan.
En: "Hi Johan," said Lars from the sidewalk, his voice full of enthusiasm despite the pain.

En: "We would really appreciate your help to make the Easter celebration go as planned."

Sv: Johan tvekade först.
En: Johan hesitated at first.

En: But when he saw how Astrid and Lars were looking at him with hopeful faces, he opened the door.

Sv: "Okej.

En: Let’s do this," he said with a smile.

En: They included Johan in the hunt, and the children picked eggs around his garden.

En: Johan laughed and made sure everyone was having fun.

En: His fear slowly disappeared when he realized how enjoyable it was to be included.

En: When the day was over, Lars sat with his leg elevated on a chair as he watched the children returning home with their baskets full of eggs and candy.

En: "We did it," he said to Johan and Astrid.

Sv: Johan nickade.

En: "That wasn’t so bad," he said with a smile.

En: From that day on, he participated more in the neighborhood, happier knowing he was surrounded by good friends.

En: Lars learned that sometimes it takes a joint effort to create something wonderful.

En: And Johan discovered that people weren't as scary as he once thought.

En: The Easter celebration was a success, not only for the children but for the entire neighborhood.
