Fr: Le soleil se levait sur Paris, faisant briller les pavés.
En: The sun was rising over Paris, making the cobblestones shine.

Fr: Derrière les bruits de la ville qui se réveille, on pouvait entendre le chuchotement de la Seine.
En: Amidst the sounds of the city awakening, one could hear the whisper of the Seine.

Fr: Sur les bords du fleuve, il y avait deux personnes, une jeune fille nommée Camille et un garçon appelé Olivier.
En: On the banks of the river, there were two people, a young girl named Camille and a boy named Olivier.

Fr: Camille tenait une baguette fraîche.
En: Camille held a fresh baguette.

Fr: Elle avait l'habitude de déchirer un petit bout de pain et de le donner aux canards.

En: Olivier laughed.

Fr: "Je ne suis pas un voleur de pain", a-t-il dit.
En: "I am not a bread thief," he said.

Fr: "C'est Camille qui a laissé tomber le pain.
En: "It was Camille who dropped the bread."

Fr: "Camille a rougi.
En: Camille blushed.

Fr: "Désolée", dit-elle.
En: "Sorry," she said.

Fr: Mais le capitaine du bateau faisait toujours semblant d'être sérieux.
En: But the boat captain continued to pretend to be serious.

Fr: "Je pourrais vous arrêter tous les deux pour vol de pain", a-t-il dit.
En: "I could arrest both of you for bread theft," he said.

Fr: Tous les trois ont ri ensemble.
En: All three of them laughed together.

Fr: Camille et Olivier ont regardé le bateau s'éloigner, tandis que le soleil continuait à monter dans le ciel.
En: Camille and Olivier watched the boat drift away, while the sun continued to rise in the sky.

Fr: Plus tard, en partant, Olivier a trouvé une pièce d'or par terre.
En: Later, as they were leaving, Olivier found a gold coin on the ground.

Fr: "Regarde, Camille", a-t-il dit.
En: "Look, Camille," he said.

Fr: Mais, d'une certaine manière, c'était tout ce dont ils avaient besoin : des rires, du soleil et du pain frais.
En: But somehow, it was all they needed: laughter, sunshine, and fresh bread.

En: It was a perfect day in Paris.

Fr: Et ils savaient que, tant qu'ils seraient ensemble et qu'ils auraient de quoi nourrir les canards, tous les jours seraient parfaits à Paris.
