Sv: I Gamla Stan i Stockholm, i det vackra höstvädret, gick Sven och Elin hand i hand.
En: In the Old Town of Stockholm, in the beautiful autumn weather, Sven and Elin walked hand in hand.

Sv: De var på semester och älskade de gamla, färgglada byggnaderna och de små butikerna.
En: They were on vacation and loved the old, colorful buildings and the small shops.

Sv: Elin hade hört många historier om Gamla Stans charmiga gator.
En: Elin had heard many stories about the charming streets of the Old Town.

Sv: Sven hade en hemlig plan.
En: Sven had a secret plan.

Sv: Han ville fria till Elin.
En: He wanted to propose to Elin.

Sv: Sven hade bokat bord på en fin restaurang till kvällen.
En: Sven had reserved a table at a nice restaurant for the evening.

Sv: Han tänkte fria under middagen.
En: He planned to propose during dinner.

Sv: Men mitt på dagen, när de korsade en smal stenbelagd gränd, hände något oväntat.

En: "Yes, please," replied Sven, "she's sprained her ankle."

En: Ingrid showed them to a nearby pharmacy where they bought an elastic bandage.

En: As they slowly continued through the dimly lit streets, he had an idea.

En: They stopped at a quiet part of the Old Town, where the lanterns cast warm light over the old walls.
