Story Transcript:

Ja: 春の日差しの中、渋谷の交差点はいつものようににぎやかでした。
En: In the spring sunlight, the Shibuya intersection was as bustling as usual.

Ja: 人々の波が、車の信号が変わるたびに行き交い、まるで大きな海のようでした。
En: Waves of people crossed back and forth like the ebb and flow of the sea every time the traffic light changed.

Ja: その中のひとり、ハルキはわくわくしながら歩いていました。
En: Amidst them, Haruki walked excitedly.

Ja: 今日は特別な日、彼は新しいペットを家に迎える日でしたから。
En: It was a special day for him, the day he would welcome a new pet into his home.

Ja: 動物シェルターに着いたハルキは、犬や猫がいる小さな部屋に入りました。
En: Arriving at the animal shelter, Haruki entered a small room filled with dogs and cats.

Ja: 彼の目を引いたのは、小さな黒い犬でした。
En: The one that caught his eye was a small black dog.

Ja: でも、よく見るとその犬は彼が予約していた白い猫とは違う動物だったのです。
En: However, upon closer inspection, he realized that the dog he had reserved was a white cat, not the animal in front of him.

Ja: 間違って、ハルキは黒い犬を家に連れて帰ってしまいました。
En: Mistakenly, Haruki took the black dog home with him.

Ja: 家に着いてから間違いに気がついたハルキは、とても慌てました。
En: Upon realizing his mistake after arriving home, Haruki became very flustered.

Ja: でも、その時、彼の友達のアユミが訪ねてきました。
En: At that moment, his friend Ayumi came to visit.

Ja: アユミも動物が大好きなので、すぐに黒い犬の魅力に気づきました。
En: Ayumi also loved animals and immediately noticed the charm of the black dog.

Ja: アユミはハルキに「この犬、かわいいね。名前はなに？」と尋ねました。
En: Ayumi asked Haruki, "This dog is cute. What's its name?"

Ja: ハルキはまだ名前をつけていないと答えました。
En: Haruki replied that he hadn't given it a name yet.

Ja: 「まちがえて家に来たけど、この子もきっと良い家族になるよ」とアヤミは言いました。
En: "Even though it came by mistake, I'm sure this little one will become a wonderful member of the family too," Ayumi said.

Ja: ハルキはまだ迷っていましたが、アユミと一緒に犬を遊ばせるうちに、徐々に心がほぐれていきました。
En: Although Haruki was still uncertain, as he played with the dog together with Ayumi, his heart gradually softened.

Ja: そしてついに、彼はその犬を自分の家族として受け入れることに決めました。
En: Finally, he decided to accept the dog as part of his family.

Ja: ハルキは犬に「ココ」と名前をつけました。なぜなら、ココに来てほしかったからです。
En: Haruki named the dog "Coco" because he had wanted Coco to come.

Ja: 翌日、ハルキとアユミは、正しい白い猫を迎えに動物シェルターへ行きました。
En: The next day, Haruki and Ayumi went back to the animal shelter to pick up the correct white cat.

Ja: そして失われたペットとの心温まる再会に涙しました。
En: They were moved to tears at the heartwarming reunion with the lost pet.

Ja: シェルターの人々も、ハルキが黒い犬を家族として迎え入れたことを聞いて、とても喜びました。
En: The people at the shelter were also delighted to hear that Haruki had welcomed the black dog into his family.

Ja: 渋谷の交差点を歩くハルキとアユミは、これからも新しい家族であるココとたくさんの思い出を作っていくことでしょう。
