Sv: Det var en varm midsommardag när Elin gick in på polisstationen i Uppsala.
En: It was a warm midsummer day when Elin walked into the police station in Uppsala.

Sv: Det var folk överallt.
En: There were people everywhere.

Sv: Vissa firade midsommar, andra hade problem.
En: Some were celebrating midsummer, others had problems.

Sv: Elin var där av en annan anledning.
En: Elin was there for a different reason.

Sv: Hennes lägenhet hade blivit rånad.
En: Her apartment had been robbed.

Sv: Hon kände sig osäker och ledsen.
En: She felt vulnerable and sad.

Sv: Elin var en 32-årig bildlärare.
En: Elin was a 32-year-old art teacher.

Sv: Hon var självständig.
En: She was independent.

Sv: Men nu kände hon sig sårbar.
En: But now she felt vulnerable.

Sv: Johan förstod hennes känsla av hopplöshet.
En: Johan understood her feeling of hopelessness.

En: But he was also determined to solve the case.

Sv: "Vi kommer att göra vårt bästa, Elin," sa han.
En: "We will do our best, Elin," he said.

En: "Johan, I have new information," she said with hope in her voice.

Sv: Johan blev imponerad.
En: Johan was impressed.

Sv: Han tog hennes uppgifter på allvar.
En: He took her information seriously.

Sv: Han spårade upp mannen med väskan.
En: He tracked down the man with the bag.

Sv: Efter några dagar hade Johan nyheter.
En: After a few days, Johan had news.

Sv: "Vi har fångat honom," sa han.
En: "We caught him," he said.

Sv: Elin andades ut.
En: Elin breathed a sigh of relief.

Sv: Hon kände sig tryggare igen.
En: She felt safer again.

Sv: Efter detta började Elin engagera sig mer i sitt område.
En: After this, Elin started to get more involved in her area.

Sv: Hon pratade oftare med sina grannar.
En: She talked more often with her neighbors.

Sv: Johan kände också att han blivit bättre som polis.
