Story Transcript:

En: A beautiful spring day was dawning on the city of light, Paris.

En: Camille and Antoine woke up in their charming apartment, nestled near the Seine.

En: Camille, a petite woman with auburn hair, was about to prepare a big cup of coffee.

En: Antoine, tall with a mustache, scratched his stubbly beard while yawning.

Fr: "Mais où sont les croissants ?
En: "But where are the croissants?"

En: exclaimed Camille, rummaging through the bread basket.

En: Antoine blinked, suddenly remembering that he had forgotten to pick up the croissants the day before.

En: Driven by the call of duty, Antoine quickly put on his coat and headed to the neighborhood bakery.

En: "A dozen croissants, please," said Antoine in Spanish, forgetting he was no longer in Madrid, where they had spent their vacation.

En: The baker, a short round woman with glasses that always slid down her nose, furrowed her brows.

Fr: "Quoi ?
En: "What?"

En: she said in French, not understanding a word of what Antoine had just said.

En: "I want a dozen croissants," repeated Antoine, still in Spanish, confident in his order.

En: The baker continued to look at him, her glasses sliding once more on her nose, adding to her puzzled expression.

En: It was then that Camille entered the bakery, worried about Antoine's long absence.

En: Seeing his comical confusion with the baker, she burst into laughter.

Fr: "Antoine, mon amour, tu n'es plus à Madrid !
En: "Antoine, my love, you're not in Madrid anymore!"

Fr: ", dit-elle entre deux rires.
En: she said amid laughter.

Fr: "Ah, c'est ça.
En: "Oh, right.

Fr: Désolé, Madame", dit Antoine, réalisant son erreur.
En: Sorry, Madame," said Antoine, realizing his mistake.

En: He then correctly ordered in French, "a dozen croissants, please."

En: The curtain fell on the day with Camille and Antoine sitting at their kitchen table, enjoying warm croissants while laughing about their morning adventure to the bakery.

En: It will remain a sweet memory for them, a perfect comic mix-up in the Parisian style.

En: Croissants, coffee, laughter, and love, what more could one ask for in Paris?
