Story Transcript:

Ja: 秋の奈良の森にある古代遺跡。
En: In the autumn forest of Nara, lies an ancient ruin.

Ja: その空気はひんやりとし、地面は赤や金色の葉で覆われている。
En: The air is chilly, and the ground is covered with red and golden leaves.

Ja: 木々の間から差し込む光が、苔むした石の構造物を優しく照らしている。
En: Light filters softly through the trees, gently illuminating the moss-covered stone structures.

Ja: そこに、ハルカと彼女の弟カズオ、親友のユキが立っていた。
En: There stood Haruka, her younger brother Kazuo, and their friend Yuki.

Ja: 「ここが噂の遺跡ね。すごいなぁ。」
En: This is the rumored ruin. It's amazing,

Ja: ユキは目を輝かせる。
En: Yuki said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Ja: しかし、カズオは懐疑的な顔をした。
En: However, Kazuo had a skeptical look.

Ja: 「ほんとにそんなお守りなんてあるの？」
En: Is there really such a charm?

Ja: 彼は少し不安げに言った。
En: he said, a bit uneasily.

Ja: ハルカは決心した顔で前を向く。
En: Haruka faced forward with a determined expression.

Ja: 「お守りはここにあるって、家族の話でずっと言われてきたわ。
En: Our family has always talked about the charm being here.

Ja: 幸運をもたらす、あの守りを見つけたいの。家族のために。」
En: I want to find that charm that brings good fortune, for the sake of my family.

Ja: 遺跡の中は迷路のように入り組んでいた。
En: The inside of the ruins was maze-like and intricate.

Ja: 古い石の階段を慎重に降りつつ、ハルカは振り返り二人を見た。
En: As Haruka carefully descended the old stone stairs, she turned back to look at the other two.

Ja: 「大丈夫、私たちならできるよ。きっと。」
En: Don't worry, we can do it. I'm sure.

Ja: 三人は静かに歩を進めたが、ユキは怖々と尋ねた。
En: The three quietly continued, but Yuki asked fearfully,

Ja: 「ハルカ、本当に大丈夫？お化けとか、何か危険なものが出てきたりしないよね？」
En: Are you really sure, Haruka? There won’t be ghosts or anything dangerous, right?

Ja: ハルカは微笑んで、肩を叩いた。
En: Haruka smiled and patted her shoulder.

Ja: 「心配しないで。私たちは一緒にいるんだから。」
En: Don't worry. We're together.

Ja: しばらく進むと、奥に狭い通路が見えてきた。
En: After progressing for a while, a narrow passage came into view deeper in.

Ja: その先には、お守りが隠れていると伝えられる場所がある。
En: Beyond it was the place said to be where the charm was hidden.

Ja: しかし、その道は崩れかけていた。
En: However, the path was on the verge of collapse.

Ja: 「行くの？」
En: Are we going?

Ja: カズオが問うた。
En: Kazuo asked.

Ja: ハルカの心は揺れる。
En: Haruka wavered.

Ja: しかし、彼女は家族の絆を考え、決断した。
En: However, she thought of her family bonds and made a decision.

Ja: 「…行かない。これ以上進むのは危険すぎる。宝よりも大事なものがある。」
En: ...No, we won’t go. It's too dangerous to proceed any further. There are things more important than treasure.

Ja: ハルカは兄弟と親友を帰る道へ誘導した。
En: Haruka led her brother and friend back toward the exit.

Ja: 「家族って、一緒にいるから強いんだよね？」
En: It's because we're together that family is strong, right?

Ja: ユキが言うと、カズオも頷いた。
En: said Yuki, and Kazuo nodded.

Ja: 「そうだよね。」
En: That's right.

Ja: ハルカは笑顔を見せた。
En: Haruka said with a smile.

Ja: 三人は遺跡を離れ、秋の葉を踏みながら歩いた。
En: The three left the ruins, walking over the autumn leaves.

Ja: その日以来、ハルカは家族の価値を知っていた。
En: Since that day, Haruka understood the value of family.

Ja: 千年の謎よりも大切なもの。それは家族の絆と友の力だった。
En: More precious than the mysteries of a thousand years were the bonds of family and the strength of friendship.

Ja: そして、三人は紅葉の下で、暖かい気持ちで、家へと帰っていった。
En: Under the autumn leaves, with warm feelings, the three returned home.
