Story Transcript:

Sv: Snön föll mjukt över den lilla inhägnade gemenskapen.
En: The snow fell softly over the small enclosed community.

Sv: Lamporna längs gångarna kastade ett varmt, inbjudande sken på marken.
En: The lights along the paths cast a warm, inviting glow on the ground.

Sv: Det var vinter och St. Knuts dag närmade sig.
En: It was winter and St. Knuts day was approaching.

Sv: Det fanns en speciell känsla i luften.
En: There was a special feeling in the air.

Sv: Astrid stod utanför sin nya lägenhet, ensam men förväntansfull.
En: Astrid stood outside her new apartment, alone but expectant.

Sv: Hon hade precis flyttat in och hoppades på en nystart.
En: She had just moved in and hoped for a fresh start.

Sv: Hon ville känna sig hemma, men ändå vara självständig.
En: She wanted to feel at home, yet be independent.

En: While she was unpacking her last boxes, she heard a light knock on the door.

En: "Are you Astrid?" asked the man on the other side.

En: "I'm Lukas. This came to me by mistake," he explained, handing over the package.

Sv: Astrid log, lite överraskad.
En: Astrid smiled, a little surprised.

Sv: "Tack," sa hon och tog emot det.
En: "Thank you," she said and accepted it.

Sv: Lukas såg lite obekväm ut, men han fortsatte: "Vi firar St. Knuts dag här i området.
En: Lukas looked a bit uncomfortable, but he continued: "We celebrate St. Knuts day here in the area.

Sv: Du borde komma.
En: You should come.

Sv: Det blir musik, mat och en traditionell julgransplundring."
En: There will be music, food, and a traditional tree-plundering."

Sv: Astrid tvekade, men tänkte sedan att kanske detta var hennes chans att lära känna sin nya omgivning.
En: Astrid hesitated, but then thought that maybe this was her chance to get to know her new surroundings.

En: Lukas was already there, waving her over to his group.

Sv: "Hej, glad att du kom," sa han och gav henne en kopp varm choklad.
En: "Hi, glad you came," he said and handed her a cup of hot chocolate.

Sv: Medan kvällen fortskred, kände Astrid sig alltmer avslappnad.
En: As the evening went on, Astrid felt increasingly relaxed.

En: She and Lukas talked for a long time about all sorts of things, from books they loved to their favorite dishes.
