Episode 050 takes us back to New Orleans, Louisiana where we had our second Guns and Gis Camp. I was able to sit down with my Jiu Jitsu coach Joao Assis and record an episode. Joao is a 7 time IBJJF World Champion and an ADCC champion. I received by blackbelt under him in 2014 and we've been close friends ever since. Joao grew up in Brazil and was able to chase the dream through Jiu Jitsu. He's now close to obtaining his United States citizenship and shared that journey with us.
