Ca: L'oficina tenia un aire prou tranquil aquell matí d'hivern, encara que la ciutat de Barcelona estava coberta per un mantell de neu inusual.
En: The office had quite a tranquil air that winter morning, even though the city of Barcelona was covered with an unusual blanket of snow.

Ca: Les finestres deixaven entrar una llum càlida, i Oriol mirava la vista mentre preparava els seus apunts.
En: The windows let in a warm light, and Oriol gazed at the view while preparing his notes.

Ca: El seu objectiu: la revisió anual del seu rendiment, un moment crucial per obtenir la tan desitjada promoció.
En: His goal: the annual performance review, a crucial moment to obtain the much-desired promotion.

Ca: L'Oriol era un gestor de projectes molt treballador i, aquest any, havia aconseguit molts èxits.
En: Oriol was a very hardworking project manager and, this year, he had achieved many successes.

Ca: Però sabia que Laia, la seva amiga i col·lega, també tenia uns resultats excel·lents.
En: But he knew that Laia, his friend and colleague, also had excellent results.

Ca: Sempre havien treballat junts amb molta harmonia, i ell sabia que en l’oficina eren l'enveja de molts.
En: They had always worked together in great harmony, and he knew that they were the envy of many in the office.

Ca: Però avui l'Oriol tenia els nervis a flor de pell.
En: But today, Oriol was on edge.

Ca: El seu cap, la Sra. Gómez, ja estava esperant.
En: His boss, Ms. Gómez, was already waiting.

Ca: Va respirar profundament i va decidir enfocar-se en el valor del treball en equip.
En: He took a deep breath and decided to focus on the value of teamwork.

Ca: Quan va començar la reunió, va parlar amb positivitat dels projectes fets conjuntament amb la Laia.
En: When the meeting began, he spoke positively about the projects done jointly with Laia.

Ca: "Aquest any, la col·laboració ha estat clau," va dir amb seguretat.
En: "This year, collaboration has been key," he said confidently.

Ca: "Molts dels nostres èxits són gràcies a les nostres sinergies."
En: "Many of our successes are thanks to our synergies."

Ca: La Sra. Gómez escoltava amb atenció.
En: Ms. Gómez listened attentively.

Ca: Després d'una pausa, va dir: "Oriol, sé que tant tu com la Laia sou excel·lents.
En: After a pause, she said, "Oriol, I know that both you and Laia are excellent.

Ca: Però si hagués de triar només un de vosaltres per la promoció, qui series tu creus el millor?"
En: But if I had to choose just one of you for the promotion, who do you think would be best?"

Ca: La tensió era palpable.
En: The tension was palpable.

Ca: L'Oriol va mirar a la Laia, qui, asseguda a la sala d'espera, es veia igual de nerviosa.
En: Oriol looked at Laia, who, seated in the waiting room, looked equally nervous.

Ca: Va fer una pausa.
En: He paused.

Ca: Pensava en els molts dies lavorats junts, en les nits llargues a l'oficina i les alegries compartides en superar reptes.
En: He thought about the many days worked together, the long nights at the office, and the shared joys in overcoming challenges.

Ca: De sobte, va tenir una idea.
En: Suddenly, he had an idea.

Ca: "Potser hi ha una altra solució," va proposar Oriol amb un somriure lleuger.
En: "Maybe there's another solution," proposed Oriol with a slight smile.

Ca: "I si creéssim una posició de lideratge compartit?
En: "What if we created a shared leadership position?

Ca: Crec que la Laia i jo podem ajudar a l’equip encara més si unim forces."
En: I believe Laia and I can help the team even more if we join forces."

Ca: La Sra. Gómez es va sorprendre davant aquella proposta inesperada.
En: Ms. Gómez was surprised by that unexpected proposal.

Ca: Li va agradar.
En: She liked it.

Ca: Veia el potencial de mantenir i reforçar l’equipament.
En: She saw the potential to maintain and strengthen the team.

Ca: "És una idea molt interessant," va dir finalment.
En: "It's a very interesting idea," she finally said.

Ca: "Parlaré amb recursos humans sobre això."

Ca: Quan Oriol va sortir, la Laia el va mirar amb sorpresa.

Ca: "De veritat?", va preguntar-li.
En: "Really?" she asked.

Ca: "L’èxit ha estat sempre compartit," va respondre Oriol, sentint un pes menys.
En: "Success has always been shared," replied Oriol, feeling a weight lifted.

Ca: "Podem aconseguir més si treballem junts."
En: "We can achieve more if we work together."

Ca: I així, l'Oriol va comprendre que hi ha més valor en la col·laboració que en la competència.
En: And so, Oriol understood that there is more value in collaboration than in competition.

Ca: Junts, ell i la Laia estaven preparats per portar l'equip a nous nivells.
En: Together, he and Laia were ready to take the team to new heights.
