Uk: У старому місті Львові, де весняні квіти вкривають вулиці, у величній будівлі Оперного театру готувалися до вистави.
En: In the old city of Lviv, where spring flowers cover the streets, preparations for a performance were underway in the magnificent building of the Opera House.

Uk: Ліва оконина сценічної завіси трохи піднята, крізь неї видно збуджену публіку.
En: The left curtain of the stage was slightly lifted, revealing an excited audience through it.

Uk: У залі мерехтіли кришталеві люстри.
En: In the hall, crystal chandeliers flickered.

Uk: Кожне місце було зайняте, бо всі чекали на Оксану, молоду, але вже відому співачку.
En: Every seat was taken because everyone was waiting for Oksana, a young but already famous singer.

Uk: Та вона сиділа за кулісами, серце гупотіло так, ніби хотіло вирватися, а в руках була листівка від дідуся, яку вона завжди носила з собою.
En: But she sat backstage, her heart pounding as if it wanted to burst, with a postcard from her grandfather, which she always carried with her.

Uk: Оксана завжди мріяла виступити в Львівській опері.
En: Oksana had always dreamed of performing at the Lviv Opera.

Uk: Дідусь, її великий прихильник, часто повторював: "Твій голос, як весняна роса — чистий і ніжний".
En: Her grandfather, her great supporter, often repeated: "Your voice is like spring dew — pure and gentle."

Uk: Але сьогодні страх захопив її так, що вона ледве дихала.
En: But today, fear gripped her so tightly that she could barely breathe.

Uk: До неї підійшов Микола, диригент, який знав Оксану ще з дитинства.
En: Mykola, the conductor who had known Oksana since childhood, approached her.

Uk: Він бачив її страх і не міг залишатися осторонь.
En: He saw her fear and couldn't stand aside.

Uk: "Оксано, ти повинна пам'ятати, для чого ти тут", — сказав він, поклавши їй руку на плече.

Uk: Лариса, подруга і також сопрано, підсіла поруч.
En: Larysa, a friend and also a soprano, sat down next to her.

Uk: "Я заспіваю разом з тобою", — запропонувала вона.
En: "I'll sing with you," she offered.

Uk: "Це полегшить тобі перший крок".
En: "It will make the first step easier for you."

Uk: Час танув.

Uk: Завіса ось-ось підніметься.
En: The curtain was about to rise.

Uk: Оксана подивилася на Миколу та Ларису.
En: Oksana looked at Mykola and Larysa.

Uk: Вона відчула тепло їхньої підтримки і вирішила — страх не переможе.
En: She felt the warmth of their support and decided — fear would not win.

Uk: Вона піднялась, міцно стискаючи листівку.
