Ca: El sol de l'estiu il·luminava la campana de l'escola mentre els nous alumnes arribaven al col·legi internat.
En: The summer sun illuminated the school bell as the new students arrived at the boarding school.

Ca: Entre ells hi havia la Mireia, una noia de Barcelona.
En: Among them was Mireia, a girl from Barcelona.

Ca: Ho notava tot com un ull estrany dins del món.
En: She noticed everything like a stranger's eye in the world.

Ca: Es mirava els edificis antics de maó rodejats per camps verds i un bosc frondós.
En: She looked at the old brick buildings surrounded by green fields and a lush forest.

Ca: Aquesta era la seva nova llar, però li semblava tan lluny de casa.
En: This was her new home, but it seemed so far from home.

Ca: L'Oriol, un estudiant amable i local del col·legi, era allà per ajudar els nouvinguts.
