    Story Transcript:

En: A sunny day bathed Berlin in golden light. The gentle whisper of the leaves mingled with the soft splashing of the Spree River. On its banks, in the gentle shade of majestic willows, three friends enjoyed a wonderful picnic. Their names were Anna, Markus, and Sophia.

En: Anna was athletic and brave, always ready to try something new. Markus, the one wearing glasses, was the thinker of the group, calm and level-headed. And then there was Sophia. She was the artist, often telling stories and coloring everything around her with her lively imagination.

En: The picnic was marvelous. Anna brought sandwiches, cheese, and cucumbers. Markus contributed a blanket and a basket full of apples, while Sophia brought a chocolate bar that melted slightly in the Berlin sun. They laughed, ate, and told each other stories as the Spree River flowed leisurely nearby.

En: But suddenly, in the midst of laughter, a soccer ball landed on their picnic blanket. Sandwiches flew, juice spilled, and the chocolate was buried. The friends looked outraged.

En: A boy, not much older than them, stood at the riverbank and shouted, "Hey, that's our ball!" His voice was abrupt, and his friends giggled.

En: Anna was angry because their lovely picnic had been ruined. Markus silently considered the possible reactions. Sophia could feel the anger, but also an opportunity to find a great story amidst the chaos.

En: Quiet as a cat, Anna grabbed the ball. "We'll give you your ball back," she said firmly. "But you have to help us clean up our picnic." The boys looked confused but eventually agreed.

En: With clenched teeth, the boys helped them clean up the picnic area: they carried away the leftover food, shook off the blanket, and even washed off the melting chocolate. When they were done, their picnic spot looked much nicer.

En: Anna smiled and kicked the ball back to the boys with a powerful kick. They were amazed and applauded her great shot. And so, the day ended with smiles on everyone's faces.

En: The sun set behind the buildings of Berlin, they packed up their things and went home. Although the picnic was ruined, it was still a great day. They not only shared sandwiches but also an experience, a story that they would retell.

En: And they would always remember this sunny day in Berlin, the day they picnicked by the Spree and a soccer ball turned their day in a completely different direction. It was not just a day; it was a precious memory. It was a Berlin day, a picnic day by the Spree.
