    Story Transcript:

En: In the middle of Tokyo, Yuki adjusted her glasses and checked the map. What she was looking for was the legendary ramen shop "Fukuryu". However, the tangled and chaotic scenery of narrow streets intersecting in countless ways puzzled her.

En: "The leaflet said to 'break through the tough maze of the asphalt jungle', but is it really this tricky?" Yuki muttered.

En: She proceeded down the narrow passageways and asked the kind old man at the vegetable store she had finally found about the location of Fukuryu. However, his answer was vague, saying, "It's around here, but the exact location is..."

En: Slightly disappointed, Yuki looked at the map again. It clearly marked the location of the shop along a line parallel to the river. Deciding in her heart that finding the river would open up the way, Yuki set off once more.

En: Upon finding the river, she spotted a shrine gate. "Maybe this is a hint," Yuki thought as she explored the shrine. Though it was as complex as a labyrinth, at the end of the shrine, Fukuryu's noren (traditional shop curtain) hung before her eyes. Yuki broke into a wide smile.

En: "Finally found it!" At the end of the long journey, Yuki's heart was filled with excitement and relief.

En: Inside Fukuryu, the atmosphere was simple and warm. The intensely sweet soy sauce ramen helped soothe the fatigue of the journey. Her satisfaction was more than just the deep contentment obtained from slurping the ramen. It was because she successfully navigated the maze-like streets of Tokyo and found the legendary ramen shop.

En: That day, Yuki cherished her small adventure as a memory, turning the joy and sense of accomplishment she found in a corner of Japan's capital into strength.

En: Under the dull gray sky, Haruto gazed at the hustle and bustle of Shibuya. His mission today was to locate a specific individual named Aoi and extract the name of the informant from her.

En: "When I look at this, it makes me want to go to the sea somewhere," Haruto said as he drank his coffee and looked at the Polaroid photo in his hand. The photo captured Aoi standing by the shore with a smile.

En: Anyway, he plunged into the crowd. When he spotted a woman wearing a light blue scarf around her neck, he approached her. "Are you Aoi?" he asked. However, the woman only looked confused when she saw him. Wrong person. He had made a mistake. He moved on to the next.

En: In the sea of people, Haruto encountered the wrong Aoi many times. Different faces, different names, but all wearing a light blue scarf. Nevertheless, Haruto didn't give up and continued forward, much like the view of buildings crowding Shibuya's intersection.

En: Finally, his eyes caught a woman reflected in a shop window. She was wearing the light blue scarf. Her name was also Aoi. However, her eyes were slightly different from the Aoi in that Polaroid photo. But he understood. Different from the innocent smile by the seaside, different in some way.

En: Approaching her, Haruto said, "I'm looking for the you who was laughing by the seaside, Aoi." As she turned around with a surprised expression, the pure smile that he had hidden shone on her face. It was a pure smile, just like in the Polaroid photo.

En: She was the Aoi he had been searching for. Haruto discreetly sent her a smile before finally completing his mission and leaving this vast intersection. Maybe he was a bit tired, but Haruto's heart was full. Today had been a long day for him.

En: On such a clear day, on the 48th floor of Palette Tower, what could possibly happen? It was a floor of a certain company where you could overlook the views of Tokyo. Haruka, Yuki, and Ryo, three new employees, were working there.

En: Haruka stopped in front of the president's office. The nerves and sweat dripping from her eyes foreshadowed the beginning of this story. Inside the door that Haruka opened, there was a glimpse of the president. She took a deep breath and took a step forward.

En: "Hello, President. It's, um, Haru, I mean, Haruka."

En: The president smiled and looked back at her. But in the next moment, Haruka's nervousness and innocence trapped her.

En: "The work is, um, progressing well, and it's like we're one team, right?"

En: A barely audible word came from the president's frozen expression. "Haruka, what are you talking about?"

En: Because Haruka mixed formal and informal words while talking to her boss, the president felt she needed to provide more specific information.

En: "Um, I'm, sorry, it's, about the atmosphere within, the company, even though... it's... well..."

En: "Atmosphere?" the president asked, puzzled.

    En: "Yes, I meant... teamwork."

En: The president's office fell silent. It seemed like time stood still for a moment there. However, the president smiled slightly.

En: "Haruka, you should have said that from the beginning."

En: "I'm sorry, I should have just been more direct."

En: In the evening of that day, Yuki and Ryo were laughing in front of Haruka. Haruka's bewildered face blushed, and her entire exchange was visible through the president's office door. Nevertheless, Haruka still smiled.

En: "But, I think I'm getting used to it a little."

En: After that, with a smile, Haruka said,

En: "And besides, the president smiled too."

En: Though her mistake led to an unexpected misunderstanding, it surprisingly taught her that the important people within the company were humorous and human. From that day on, Haruka became more attentive to her choice of words and gradually got used to communicating within the company.

    Story Transcript:

En: In Tokyo City, two best friends, Haruka and Daiki, lived.

En: They worked at the same travel agency, and on weekends, they enjoyed escaping the city noise together and camping in quiet places like Nasu and Hakone in the outskirts.

En: One day, Haruka, who was preparing for camping, was looking at an outdoor cooking magazine.

En: "A fresh salad with avocados, this looks good," she thought.

En: However, her cooking knowledge was not very deep, and she accidentally bought avocados, which were green and tough-skinned like wasabi, at the fruit section.

En: On that weekend, they gathered at the camping site in Koganei Park.

En: When the smell of Haruka's cooked food filled the air, excitement appeared on Daiki's face.

    En: "Alright, it's mealtime!"

En: Daiki exclaimed happily, but he waited for permission from Haruka to start eating out of respect.

En: After that, Haruka said with a smile, "I prepared a special salad for you, Daiki," and served a salad filled with plenty of wasabi.

En: Although Daiki realized there were unfamiliar ingredients in the salad, he exclaimed, "Let's eat!"

En: and took a bite of that special salad for her.

En: Suddenly, Daiki's face turned red, and tears welled up in his eyes.

    En: "This is...

    Ja: 「これは…
    En: wasabi?!"

En: Daiki was surprised by the new experience but couldn't help bursting into laughter at the situation.

En: Haruka was surprised by Daiki's reaction and realized the avocado she mistakenly bought was actually wasabi.

En: She also noticed her mistake and burst into laughter with Daiki.

En: Later, Haruka made a salad using real avocados and splendidly got her revenge on Daiki.

En: From then on, this wasabi and avocado incident became a good memory between the two, turning into a laughing matter during each camping trip.

En: And their bond deepened even further through this small humorous event.

En: One afternoon, three friends, Haruka, Yuuto, and Sakura, were having a video call from their respective homes in Tokyo.

En: Haruka's room with the view of the new Tokyo Tower in the background, Yuuto's apartment near Tokyo Station with noise audible, and Sakura's study lined with beloved old books. Three entirely different spaces were being united as one on the screen.

En: "It's been a while, everyone," Sakura spoke, her voice filling the video-linked spaces of the three rooms in Tokyo.

En: "Sakura, you don't need to bow during a video call," Yuuto chuckled. On the screen, Sakura was bowing politely to everyone.

En: "It's a habit from my upbringing," Sakura laughed, looking embarrassed. But Haruka thought deeply and felt that there might be more meaning to Sakura's actions than usual.

En: A few days later, Haruka's worry came true. A letter arrived from Sakura via airmail: "I am ill and it will be difficult to meet for a while."

En: After finishing reading the letter, Haruka remembered the video call incident. Was Sakura's bow that day a farewell? A scary premonition enveloped Haruka's heart.

En: "Haruka, we have the power to help Sakura now," Yuuto said with a serious expression. And so, the three of them decided to join forces to fight against Sakura's illness.

En: Haruka gathered information, Yuuto found a doctor, and they all did their best in their respective roles. Eventually, with the treatment they found, Sakura was able to embark on the road to recovery.

En: On the day their video call reconnected, Sakura bowed once again. But this time, it was not a farewell bow, but a bow of gratitude.

En: One day in Tokyo, where the hustle and bustle of the city envelops everything. Yuki, Haruto, and Aoi were happily chatting as they walked towards the famous ramen shop "Kinryu Ramen" in Ebisu.

En: However, the renowned shop they were trying to find was hidden in a complex and maze-like alley not far from the station. To reach their destination, the three of them relied on a map and took on the challenge. As the blue sky turned into a dull gray, Yuki and the others still hadn't found the ramen shop.

En: Looking at the map, Aoi thought, "If we turn right here... huh?" Haruto tilted his head and asked, "Yuki, is this the right street?" Yuki furrowed her brow and stared at the map in astonishment.

En: Seeing people lined up in the distance, Yuki thought, "Could that be it?" But it turned out to be a different shop, and the three friends' hopes were dashed by the chilly night breeze.

En: After rechecking the map together, Yuki made a suggestion, "Let's split up and search. Let's meet back here in 10 minutes." The friends nodded, dispersed, and started looking for the ramen shop in the quiet night.

En: As time passed, the three of them grew increasingly confused. However, at that moment, Haruto found something. It was a scrap of paper with the name Kinryu Ramen written on it, apparently dropped on the road and illuminated by a lantern.

En: Excitedly, Haruto ran back to the meeting point. Yuki and Aoi quickly joined him, and Haruto confidently showed them the map. "Thanks to this scrap of paper, I found the place. We won't get lost anymore, it's this way!"

En: The three of them set off again, but this time it was different. They had confidence and hope in the path, and soon, in front of them was a red lantern with "Kinryu Ramen in Ebisu" written on it. Below it, the shop owner peeked out from the kitchen and warmly welcomed them with a "Welcome!"

En: That day, Yuki, Haruto, and Aoi savored delicious ramen. Getting lost led them to an adventurous experience, deepening their friendship even more. Ultimately, getting lost became their best memory.

En: Yes, even if the ramen shop was their destination, the journey leads everywhere. Even on the wrong path, smiles and satisfaction await in the end. And the three friends realized that. Even if they get lost, as long as they have the joy of adventuring together, that's all that matters.
