Story Transcript:

Ja: 東京国立博物館は、敬老の日でにぎやかでした。
En: The Tokyo National Museum was bustling on Respect for the Aged Day.

Ja: たくさんの人が訪れています。
En: Many people were visiting.

Ja: 館内は歴史の豊かな香りで満ちています。
En: The interior was filled with a rich aroma of history.

Ja: 外の上野公園では、秋の葉がさわさわと音を立てています。
En: Outside, in Ueno Park, the autumn leaves rustled softly.

Ja: ヒロシは、高校生です。
En: Hiroshi is a high school student.

Ja: 静かで、考え深い少年です。
En: He is a quiet and thoughtful boy.

Ja: 博物館を訪れるのが大好きです。将来、古生物学者になることを夢見ています。
En: He loves visiting museums and dreams of becoming a paleontologist in the future.

Ja: 今日は特別な日です。
En: Today is a special day.

Ja: 姉のアイコが、敬老の日で家に戻ってきました。
En: His older sister Aiko returned home for Respect for the Aged Day.

Ja: 心配性のアイコは、いつもヒロシのことを気にかけています。

En: However, Kenji is not yet aware of his dream.

Ja: 「大丈夫？」とアイコが心配そうに聞きます。
En: "Are you okay?" Aiko asks worriedly.

Ja: 「薬を探してくるね。」
En: "I'll go find some medicine."

Ja: ヒロシは少し考えました。
En: Hiroshi thinks for a moment.

Ja: アレルギーのせいで、今日のチャンスを逃したくありません。
En: He doesn't want to miss today's opportunity because of his allergies.

Ja: 勇気を出して、ヒロシはケンジさんに近づきます。
En: Gathering his courage, Hiroshi approaches Kenji.

Ja: 「あの、新しい化石展について教えてください」と、クシャミをこらえながら聞きます。
En: "Excuse me, can you tell me about the new fossil exhibit?" he asks, trying to hold back a sneeze.

Ja: ケンジさんはにっこり笑い、最新の化石について話し始めます。
En: Kenji smiles warmly and begins to talk about the latest fossils.

Ja: その間、アイコは薬局へと走ります。
En: Meanwhile, Aiko runs to the pharmacy.

En: Hiroshi becomes so absorbed in the conversation that he almost forgets about his allergies.

Ja: でも、体は正直です。クシャミが止まりません。
En: But his body is honest—the sneezing doesn't stop.

Ja: アイコが戻ってきて、薬を渡します。
En: Aiko returns and hands him the medicine.

Ja: 「ほら、これで大丈夫。」
En: "Here, this will help."

Ja: ヒロシは薬を飲んで、少し楽になります。
En: Hiroshi takes the medicine and feels a bit better.

Ja: その間も、ケンジさんの話を一生懸命聞いていました。
En: All the while, he's been listening intently to Kenji's talk.

Ja: 話の終わりに、ケンジさんはヒロシに名刺を渡します。
En: At the end of the conversation, Kenji hands Hiroshi a business card.

En: "If you want to know more, please contact me here."

Ja: ヒロシは顔を輝かせます。
En: Hiroshi's face lights up.
