Hu: A meleg nyári nap sugarai beszűrődtek az árvaház ablakain.
En: The rays of the warm summer sun filtered through the windows of the orphanage.

Hu: Az évtizedes kőfalak mégis hűvösek maradtak.
En: Yet, the decades-old stone walls remained cool.

Hu: Ez az épület mindig is Ilona otthona volt.
En: This building had always been Ilona’s home.

Hu: A gyerekek nevetése és sírása töltötte be a termeket, de a poros archívum csendje mindig rejtett valamit.
En: The rooms were filled with the laughter and cries of children, but the silence of the dusty archive always kept something hidden.

Hu: Egy nap, Saint László napját ünnepelve, Ilona egy régi levelet talált az árvaház kertjében.
En: One day, while celebrating Saint László's day, Ilona found an old letter in the orphanage garden.

Hu: A papír sárga volt és törékeny.
En: The paper was yellow and fragile.

Hu: A borítékon az ő neve állt, egy ismeretlen kézírással.
En: Her name was written on the envelope in an unfamiliar handwriting.

Hu: De mielőtt elolvashatta volna, az árvaház igazgatója, Márta néni, megjelent az ajtóban.
En: But before she could read them, the orphanage director, Aunt Márta, appeared at the door.

Hu: Arcán csalódott kifejezés ült.
En: A look of disappointment sat on her face.

Hu: „Mit csinálsz itt, Ilona? Tudod, hogy tilos itt lenned.”
En: “What are you doing here, Ilona? You know it’s forbidden to be here.”

Hu: Ilona megfagyott a helyén, de nem hagyta magát.
En: Ilona froze in place but didn’t give in.

Hu: „Márta néni, kérlek! Ezt a levelet találtam. Az én nevem van rajta. Tudnom kell, kik a szüleim.”
En: “Aunt Márta, please! I found this letter. It has my name on it. I need to know who my parents are.”

Hu: Aztán, valami megváltozott az igazgatónő arcán.
En: Then, something changed on the director’s face.

Hu: Talán a szemében csillant meg egy könnycsepp, talán a hangjában volt valami más.
En: Perhaps a tear glistened in her eye, or there was something different in her voice.

Hu: „Gyere velem” — mondta végül csendesen.
En: “Come with me,” she finally said quietly.

Hu: „Segítek megfejteni ezt a levelet.”
En: “I’ll help you decipher this letter.”

Hu: Ettől a naptól kezdve Márta néni és Ilona együtt kutatták a régi iratokat.
En: From that day on, Aunt Márta and Ilona searched the old records together.

Hu: Az igazgatónő megnyitotta a régi archívumok ajtaját Ilona előtt, és együtt próbálták megfejteni a rejtélyes leveleket.
En: The director opened the doors of the old archives for Ilona, and together they tried to decode the mysterious letters.
