Pl: Na obrzeżach małej wsi, w dolinie pełnej soczystych pól i pachnących kwiatów, stało małe gospodarstwo rodziny Kowalskich.
En: On the outskirts of a small village, in a valley full of lush fields and fragrant flowers, stood the small farmstead of the Kowalski family.

Pl: Było lato, a słońce mocno grzało.
En: It was summer, and the sun was shining brightly.

Pl: Ptaki śpiewały, a z pól dochodził szum dojrzewającej pszenicy.
En: Birds were singing, and the sound of ripening wheat could be heard from the fields.

Pl: Zbigniew, starszy brat, zawsze miał głowę na karku.
En: Zbigniew, the older brother, always had a good head on his shoulders.

Pl: Był odpowiedzialny i ciężko pracował na gospodarstwie, odkąd ich rodzice przestali być w stanie.
En: He was responsible and had been working hard on the farm ever since their parents could no longer manage.

Pl: - Wiesz, że matka i ojciec chcieli, żeby farma została w rodzinie.
En: "You know that mother and father wanted the farm to stay in the family."

Pl: Agata westchnęła i skrzyżowała ręce.
En: Agata sighed and crossed her arms.

Pl: - Mam prawo do mojej części.
En: "I have a right to my share.

Pl: Chcę iść do miasta, znaleźć pracę, może założyć swoją firmę.
En: I want to go to the city, find a job, maybe start my own business.

Pl: Nie mogę tylko siedzieć tutaj.
En: I can't just sit here."

Pl: - Wiem, że masz swoje marzenia, ale to nasze dziedzictwo.
En: "I know you have your dreams, but this is our heritage.

Pl: Nasi rodzice i dziadkowie ciężko pracowali, żeby to miejsce przetrwało - tłumaczył Zbigniew.
En: Our parents and grandparents worked hard to keep this place going," Zbigniew explained.

Pl: - Zbyszek, ja też mam swoje marzenia.
En: "Zbyszek, I have my dreams too.

Pl: Mogę mieć własne życie i nadal być częścią tej rodziny - odpowiedziała Agata stanowczo.
En: I can have my own life and still be part of this family," Agata replied firmly.

Pl: Dochodziło południe, ludzie zaczynali się schodzić na świętowanie.
En: It was nearing noon, and people were starting to gather for the celebration.

Pl: Napięcie rosło.
En: The tension was rising.

Pl: Agata i Zbigniew wdawali się w coraz ostrzejsze słowa.
En: Agata and Zbigniew were getting into sharper and sharper words.

Pl: Spór był coraz bardziej emocjonalny.
En: The dispute was becoming increasingly emotional.

Pl: - Jeśli podzielimy spadek, farma się rozpadnie!
En: "If we divide the inheritance, the farm will fall apart!"

Pl: - krzyknął Zbigniew.
En: shouted Zbigniew.

Pl: - Jeśli mnie nie wypuścisz, złamiesz moje życie!
En: "If you don't let me go, you'll ruin my life!"

Pl: - odpowiadała Agata.
En: Agata retorted.

Pl: Właśnie wtedy przyszedł ich stary wujek Janusz, który znał historię każdej rodziny w wiosce.
En: Just then, their old uncle Janusz came by, who knew every family's history in the village.

Pl: Patrząc na nich z troską, zaproponował: - Może znajdziecie kompromis.
En: Looking at them with concern, he suggested: "Maybe you can find a compromise.

Pl: Każde z was coś zyska, ale i coś odda.
En: Each of you gains something, but also gives something up."

Pl: Zbigniew i Agata zamilkli, głęboko się zastanawiając.
En: Zbigniew and Agata fell silent, deeply contemplating.

Pl: Po kilku minutach, Zbigniew złapał siostrę za rękę.
En: After a few minutes, Zbigniew took his sister's hand.

Pl: - Jeśli naprawdę chcesz iść swoją drogą, znajdziemy sposób, żeby ci pomóc.
En: "If you really want to go your own way, we'll find a way to help you.

Pl: Ale proszę, pozwól mi zachować farmę - powiedział szczerze.
En: But please, let me keep the farm," he said sincerely.

Pl: Agata wzięła głęboki oddech.
En: Agata took a deep breath.

Pl: - Dobrze, Zbyszek.
En: "Alright, Zbyszek.

Pl: Zostaw sobie farmę, ale czy wspomożesz mnie finansowo?
En: Keep the farm, but will you support me financially?"

Pl: Zbigniew kiwnął głową.
En: Zbigniew nodded.

Pl: - Oczywiście.
En: "Of course.

Pl: Zrobimy wszystko, żebyś mogła spełnić swoje marzenia.
En: We’ll do everything so you can fulfill your dreams."

Pl: Tak oto znaleźli złoty środek.
En: And so, they found a golden mean.

Pl: Zbigniew pozostał na farmie, dbając o rodzinne dziedzictwo, a Agata wyruszyła w świat, finansowo wspomagana przez brata.
En: Zbigniew stayed on the farm, taking care of the family heritage, and Agata set off into the world, financially supported by her brother.

Pl: Lato mijało, a życie toczyło się dalej.
En: Summer passed, and life went on.
