Story Transcript:

En: The bustling ancient Beijing market was full of energy and noise at this moment.

En: The market was colorful, and the cries of vendors rose one after another.

En: The air was filled with the fragrance of flowers and fresh fruits and vegetables, a sign that spring was here.

En: Everyone was preparing for the upcoming Qingming Festival.

En: Lan was a young girl holding a small basket and looking serious.

En: Her long hair gently swayed on her shoulders as she said to Jia beside her, "We need to find the best traditional decorations to properly honor our ancestors."

En: Jia winked and smiled, "Of course, Lan.

En: I know you always care about tradition."

En: They wove through the crowded market streets, looking for suitable decorations.

En: Many stalls were filled with paper flowers, paper money, and incense.

En: Suddenly, they stopped in front of one stall.

En: The vendor, a businessman named Wei, was busily attending to customers.

En: Lan took a liking to a decoration, a string of exquisite lanterns, but they were quite expensive.

En: She thought to herself, "This is the best choice for my family, but the price..." Seeing her hesitation, Wei smiled and said, "Miss, this is a rare find.

En: Otherwise, you might want to look at something else?"

En: Lan knew that finding the right decorations wasn't easy.

En: Jia patted her shoulder and whispered, "Maybe we should check out other stalls."

En: Lan nodded but felt unwilling in her heart.

En: She remembered the peace and respect she felt when she prepared offerings for her ancestors.

En: Perhaps, she could find another way.

En: Just as they were about to leave, Lan's attention was caught by something in the corner.

En: It was a low-key yet stylish lantern hidden in the corner of the stall.

En: Lan's eyes lit up, and she murmured, "This is exactly what I want."

En: She turned back to Wei, "Can you sell me this lantern?"

En: Slightly hesitant, Wei knew the item was small but unique.

En: Pretending to think it over, he finally said, "Alright, I'll give you a friendly price."

En: Jia casually added, "So many customers are waiting, a fair price, just buy it!"

En: Seeing Wei reconsider, Lan seized the opportunity: "I really like this lantern; can you offer a bit more of a discount?"

En: Wei was finally moved by Lan's persistence and smiled, "Alright, alright, I'll make a concession."

En: In the end, Lan happily left the market with her desired decoration.

En: She gratefully said to Jia, "Thank you for helping; I've learned a lot."

En: As they walked out of the market, Lan felt the spring sunlight was especially warm.

En: She realized that the combination of tradition and creativity could lead to unexpectedly beautiful results.
