Story Transcript:

Sv: Ett vårregn piskade mot fönstren till det enorma, blå-gula byggnaden i Kungens Kurva.
En: A spring rain beat against the windows of the immense blue and yellow building in Kungens Kurva.

Sv: Inuti IKEA snurrade Johan runt i sin egen labyrint av Billy bokhyllor och Köttbullar.
En: Inside IKEA, Johan spun around in his own labyrinth of Billy bookcases and meatballs.

Sv: Han var inte från Stockholm, han var turist och tyckte att IKEA var den ultimata svenska upplevelsen.
En: He wasn't from Stockholm; he was a tourist and felt that IKEA was the ultimate Swedish experience.

Sv: Johan kände sig vilse i det breda spektrumet av möbler.
En: Johan felt lost in the wide spectrum of furniture.

Sv: Han tänkte "är jag fortfarande i köksavdelningen?
En: He thought, "Am I still in the kitchen section?

Sv: Varför finns det sängar här?
En: Why are there beds here?"

Sv: "Efter en stund snubblade Johan in i ett utställningsrum uppsatt som en typisk svensk matsal, komplett med en lackad trämöbel och en dukad bordsspegling.
En: After a while, Johan stumbled into a display room set up like a typical Swedish dining room, complete with a shiny wooden furniture and a set dining table.

Sv: Där satt en svensk familj - far, mor, dotter och son - färdiga att ta en bit av den läckra middagen.
En: There sat a Swedish family - father, mother, daughter, and son - ready to enjoy a bite of the delicious dinner.

Sv: Och mitt i all förvirring tänkte Johan att han kanske hade kommit till restaurangen.
En: And amidst all the confusion, Johan thought that maybe he had arrived at the restaurant.

Sv: Emma, en tioårig dotter i familjen, tittade upp och märkte den vilse blick Johan hade.
En: Emma, a ten-year-old daughter in the family, looked up and noticed the bewildered look Johan had.

Sv: Hon log mot honom och vinkade honom till bordet.
En: She smiled at him and waved him to the table.

Sv: Trots sin förvirring log Johan tillbaka, knäppte sina händer och gick mot bordet.
En: Despite his confusion, Johan smiled back, clasped his hands, and walked towards the table.

Sv: Han satt sig ner med familjen, för att äta och försöka blanda in.
En: He sat down with the family, to eat and try to blend in.

Sv: Alla var glada över hans ankomst, de skrattade och skämtade.
En: Everyone was delighted by his arrival, they laughed and joked.

Sv: Emma började prata med honom om alla saker hon hade sett den dagen på IKEA.
En: Emma began talking to him about all the things she had seen that day at IKEA.

Sv: Johan njöt av den trevliga atmosfären.
En: Johan enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere.

Sv: Han tänkte, "Vilken fin svensk tradition, en middagsbjudning mitt i en möbelaffär!
En: He thought, "What a nice Swedish tradition, a dinner party in the middle of a furniture store!"

Sv: "En prickig sköldpaddskatt hoppade upp på bordet.
En: A spotted tortoiseshell cat jumped up on the table.

Sv: Familjens mamma, Anna, hoppade till och sa "Men, Gustav!
En: The family's mother, Anna, jumped and said, "Wait, Gustav!

Sv: Det där beteendet kan vi inte ha i en ordentlig middag".
En: We can't have that behavior at a proper dinner."

Sv: Då insåg Johan, att något inte var som det borde.
En: That's when Johan realized something was amiss.

Sv: Det var då en anställd av IKEA, i sin gula och blå uniform,...
