Sv: Sven hade alltid haft en svaghet för IKEA.
En: Sven had always had a weakness for IKEA.

Sv: Varför?
En: Why?

Sv: Många skäl!
En: Many reasons!

Sv: Priserna, möblerna, köttbullarna, doften av nytt trä.
En: The prices, the furniture, the meatballs, the smell of fresh wood.

Sv: Men han åkte inte bara dit för att handla.
En: But he didn't just go there to shop.

Sv: Det var något i att gå runt i varuhuset, som gjorde honom glad.
En: There was something about walking around the store that made him happy.

Sv: En kylig lördag i februari, vek Sven av från E20 och stannade vid den blå och gula byggnaden.
En: On a chilly Saturday in February, Sven veered off E20 and stopped at the blue and yellow building.

Sv: Vädret var tråkigt, men här inne var allt livligt och varmt.
En: The weather was dull, but inside, everything was lively and warm.

Sv: Sven klev in och försvann bland utställningsrummen.
En: Sven entered and disappeared among the showrooms.

Sv: Nu hör till saken, att Sven var en man med dåligt lokalsinne.
En: Now, it should be noted that Sven was a man with poor sense of direction.

Sv: Han kunde gå vilse i ett tomt rum.
En: He could get lost in an empty room.

Sv: Men IKEA?
En: But IKEA?

Sv: Det var en labyrint.
En: It was a labyrinth.

Sv: Han gick från rum till rum, genom kök, sovrum, badrum.
En: He went from room to room, through kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms.

Sv: Snart visste han inte var han var.
En: Soon he didn't know where he was.

Sv: Förvirrad och trött, gick Sven in i ett sovrum på display.
En: Confused and tired, Sven walked into a display bedroom.

Sv: Sängarna såg så inbjudande ut.
En: The beds looked so inviting.

Sv: "En kort paus kan väl inte skada", tänkte han och lade sig på närmaste säng.
En: "A short break can't hurt," he thought and lay down on the nearest bed.

Sv: Täcket var mjukt och varmt, och snart somnade Sven.
En: The blanket was soft and warm, and soon Sven fell asleep.

Sv: Jag vet inte hur länge Sven sov, men när han vaknade var det mörkt.
En: I don't know how long Sven slept, but when he woke up, it was dark.

Sv: Han klev upp och såg sig omkring.
En: He got up and looked around.

Sv: Varuhuset var tomt.
En: The store was empty.

Sv: Alla lamporna var släckta.
En: All the lights were off.

Sv: Han var ensam.
En: He was alone.

Sv: I en IKEA.
En: In an IKEA.

Sv: På natten.
En: At night.

Sv: Sven kände en blandning av rädsla och spänning.
En: Sven felt a mix of fear and excitement.

Sv: Han gick igenom de mörka korridorerna, ibland halkade han på en glömd fotpall eller snubblade över en matta.
En: He walked through the dark corridors, sometimes slipping on a forgotten footstool or tripping over a rug.

Sv: Men han var inte rädd.
En: But he wasn't scared.

Sv: Inte mycket.
En: Not much.

Sv: Till sist hittade Sven till restaurangen.
En: Finally, Sven found his way to the restaurant.

Sv: Det var sällsamt att se allt så tomt och tyst.
En: It was strange to see everything so empty and quiet.

Sv: Ingen doft av köttbullar eller kanelbullar.
En: No smell of meatballs or cinnamon rolls.

Sv: Inga skrattande barn.
En: No laughing...
