Hu: A napfényben úszó Budapesti utcák, ahol villamosok csilingelése vegyül a hétköznapi forgatag zajával, hitessek el minden jövevényt, hogy olyan nyelvet beszélnek itt, ami linguisztikai csoda.
En: Sun-drenched streets of Budapest, where the jingle of trams mingles with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, convince every newcomer that they speak a language here that is a linguistic marvel.

Hu: Az A38 hajó éppen szelte a Duna hullámain, az emberek pedig örömködtek e festői látványban.
En: The A38 ship was cutting through the waves of the Danube, and people were rejoicing in this picturesque sight.

Hu: Ezen a napon, azon a hajón, valami furcsa dolog történt – és ennek köze volt Ádámhoz.
En: On this day, on that ship, something strange happened - and it involved Ádám.

Hu: Ádám, az új fiú a városban, nem volt rutinos illető, de még kevésbé volt képzett a magyar nyelv kézzelfoghatóan bonyolult akadályában.
En: Ádám, the new guy in town, was not an experienced person, but even less so was he skilled in the tangible complexities of the Hungarian language.

Hu: Egy naiv lelkesedéssel övezett friss Budapestlakóként elszánta magát, hogy belemerüljen a helyi kultúrába, és mi lenne jobb kezdésnek, mint a nyelv elsajátítása.
En: With a naive enthusiasm, as a fresh Budapest dweller, he resolved to immerse himself in the local culture, and what better start than mastering the language.

Hu: Ádám középpontba került, a tetején egy bájos magyar lány, Anna, rajta tartotta a szemét. "Hé, próbáld ki a nyelvtudásodat!" - kérte Anna, aki nem tudta, milyen kalapácsra készül ütni.
En: Ádám was in the spotlight, with a charming Hungarian girl, Anna, keeping her eyes on him. "Hey, try out your language skills!" Anna requested, not knowing what hammer she was about to strike.

Hu: Ádám beleegyezett, arca elpirult, és összevonta a szemöldökét, miközben összpontosított a szavakra, amelyeket elsajátított. "Jó reggelt, szép hölgyem. Szeretem a libanoni csirke..." – mondta a fiú.
En: Ádám agreed, his face blushing, and his eyebrows furrowing as he focused on the words he had learned. "Good morning, beautiful lady. I love Lebanese chicken..." the boy said.

En: But the word he used instead of chicken gave a completely different meaning to the sentence; and as the words drifted away into the cool evening atmosphere of Budapest, Ádám followed them with a long, awkward silence.

En: The silence was soon broken by uproarious laughter. Everyone on the ship laughed, except for Ádám, who did not know the fart jokes.

Hu: S miután megértette, - mert Anna kedvesen elmagyarázta a hibát, - ő is csatlakozott a hajó nevetéséhez. Aznap este elhatározta, hogy soha többé nem ejti rosszul a csirke szót.
En: And after understanding, because Anna kindly explained the mistake, he also joined in the laughter on the ship. That evening, he decided to never mispronounce the word chicken again.

Hu: Ádám legyen tanulságunk arra, hogy ha valaki vállalkozik egy olyan kalandra, hogy új nyelvet tanul, előbb-utóbb bele fog futni egy olyan helyzetbe, ahol hozzá hasonlóan nevetséges jelenetbe keveredik.
En: Let Ádám be a lesson to us that if someone embarks on the adventure of learning a new language, sooner or later they will find themselves in a situation where they, like him, get involved in a ridiculous scene.

Hu: Ádám története emlékeztetett minket arra is, hogy minden nevetés mögött egy történet van.
En: Ádám's story also reminded us that behind every laughter, there is a story.
