De: Die Sonne schien hell über Berlin, und Hermannplatz lag mitten im sommerlichen Trubel.
En: The sun shone brightly over Berlin, and Hermannplatz lay amidst the summer hustle and bustle.

De: Lukas ging nervös durch die große Glastür des Polizeireviers.
En: Lukas walked nervously through the large glass door of the police station.

De: Die klare Luft war angenehm, aber Lukas spürte einen Knoten im Magen.
En: The clear air was pleasant, but Lukas felt a knot in his stomach.

De: Sein Fahrrad war gestohlen worden, und das machte ihm große Sorgen.
En: His bicycle had been stolen, and that worried him greatly.

En: Her patience helped Lukas feel more at ease.

De: Neben ihnen stand Anneliese, eine ältere Dame, die auch auf Hilfe wartete.
En: Next to them stood Anneliese, an elderly lady also waiting for assistance.

De: Sie lächelte Lukas mitfühlend an.
En: She smiled at Lukas sympathetically.
