Ca: Enmig de l'hivern, les llums de Nadal il·luminaven els carrers estrets del Barri Gòtic de Barcelona.
En: In the midst of winter, the Christmas lights illuminated the narrow streets of the Barri Gòtic of Barcelona.

Ca: Les llambordes brillaven sota la llum càlida, mentre el vent fred portava l'aroma de les castanyes torrades, venudes a les cantonades.
En: The cobblestones shone under the warm light, while the cold wind carried the aroma of roasted chestnuts sold at the corners.

Ca: Era un escenari bell, però Laia se sentia sola.
En: It was a beautiful scene, but Laia felt alone.

Ca: Caminava entre les ombres dels edificis antics, preocupada pel silenci d'en Oriol.
En: She walked among the shadows of the ancient buildings, worried about the silence from Oriol.

Ca: " Semblava una promesa, i el seu cor va bategar amb esperança.

Ca: Comprenia ara que Oriol havia tingut intenció de tornar, però alguna cosa l'havia detingut.

Ca: De sobte, el seu telèfon va vibrar.
