Pl: Na Rynku Głównym w Krakowie zapadł zmierzch.
En: Twilight had fallen on the Main Market Square in Krakow.

Pl: Anna i Piotr, młodzi i szczęśliwi, spacerowali po brukowanych uliczkach.
En: Anna and Piotr, young and happy, strolled along the cobblestone streets.

Pl: To była Noc Świętojańska, noc pełna magii i tajemnic.
En: It was Midsummer Night, a night full of magic and mysteries.

Pl: Anna zauważyła ognie na wodzie.
En: Anna noticed fires on the water.

Pl: "Piotrze, chodź!
En: "Piotr, come on!

Pl: Zobaczymy wianki na rzece!"
En: Let's go see the wreaths on the river!"

Pl: – zawołała.
En: she called out.

Pl: Piotr uśmiechnął się.
En: Piotr smiled.

Pl: Uwielbiał święta.

Pl: Anna spojrzała w tę stronę.

Pl: "To chyba nic takiego, może dzieci się bawią" – odrzekła.
En: "It's probably nothing, maybe children playing," she replied.

Pl: Ale Piotr miał złe przeczucia.
En: But Piotr had a bad feeling.

Pl: Podszedł bliżej.
En: He went closer.

Pl: Cienie zniknęły, ale został po nich dziwny zapach.
En: The shadows had vanished, but a strange smell lingered.

Pl: "To chyba tylko dym z ognisk" – pomyślał i wrócił do Anny.
En: "It's probably just smoke from the bonfires," he thought and returned to Anna.

Pl: "Wszystko w porządku" – powiedział uspokajająco.
En: "Everything's fine," he said reassuringly.

Pl: Ale napięcie między nimi wzrosło.

Pl: Wrócili nad Wisłę, żeby sprawdzić swoje wianki.

Pl: – zaniepokoiła się.
En: she worried.
