On today's episode we're chatting about - how to fix your body image in the summer: whole-hearted eating edition. We've been conditioned to believe our bodies are broken and they need to be fixed; and the only way to fix this is to change our bodies so we're more comfortable with the way that they look. But we know that these methods are always very restrictive, and never lead to a sustainable outcome that actually makes us feel better - because changing your body won't fix your body image. You can't diet your way out of bad body image. So what can we do instead? Enter the Whole-Hearted Eating approach!

I'd like to shed light on some of my real life experiences, that not everyone feels like a pregnancy goddess. Welcome to the nutrition for pregnancy: expectations vs reality episode.

On today's episode, Cristina and Dana interview Jessi Jean all about the people pleasing and emotional eating connection. In today's interview we're digging into how our nervous system plans a role in binge eating and emotional eating, and how nervous system regulation tools can be used to help clients understand and work through their own binge eating and emotional eating connection. We also discuss other behaviors and situations that help create the perfect storm that may lead to binge and emotional eating, and how no amount of mindset work is going to override a dysregulated nervous system.

Maria Sylvester Terry of Vitamin Ri joins Dana today for a fun mix of a clinical discussion of Anti-diet vs weight neutral nutrition care, and some lighthearted banter about the current (sometimes problematic) state of the intuitive eating and anti-diet space on social media. Ri and Dana are chatting about how they work with gyms from a weight-neutral perspective, the difference between anti-diet and weight-neutral nutrition care, and how to make nutrition shifts without becoming obsessed or feeling like you need to eliminate your cultural foods. They also discuss how intuitive eating can sometimes feel like a dietitian sorority - and how the "first rule of no food rules is that you don't talk about food rules" - just like fight club.
