Hu: Az emberek, János és Emese, Budapesten jártak.
En: People, János and Emese, were walking in Budapest.

Hu: A Margit híd tompa döngése adta meg a dobszólamát, ahogy átsétáltak rajta.
En: The dull thud of the Margit Bridge provided the rhythm of the drums as they crossed it.

Hu: Az éj fekete selyemkárpitja a városuk felett terült szét, alattuk a Duna csillogott a holdfényben.
En: The black silk curtain of night spread out over their city, and below them, the Danube shimmered in the moonlight.

Hu: "A Kocsiba mennénk," mondta János.
En: "We should go to the Kocsi," János said.

Hu: Emese megállt.
En: Emese stopped.

Hu: "A kocsiba?
En: "To the carriage?"

Hu: " kérdezte, és arca csodálkozással telt meg.
En: she asked, her face filled with wonder.

Hu: "Nyitva vannak ilyenkor?
En: "Are they open at this time?"

Hu: "János kuncogott.
En: János chuckled.

Hu: Megvonta a vállát.
En: He shrugged.

Hu: "Nem a kocsiban, hanem a Kocsma!
En: "Not to the carriage, but to the Inn!"

Hu: " mondta nevetve.
En: he said, laughing.

Hu: "Ott fogunk megszállni éjszakára.
En: "That's where we will stay for the night."

Hu: "Emese nevetett.
En: Emese laughed.

Hu: "Ó, a Kocsma!
En: "Oh, the Inn!

Hu: Gondoltam, furcsa lenne, ha az autóban aludnánk.
En: I thought it would be strange if we slept in the car."

Hu: " Könnyedén betették a távot, halkan beszélgetve, kacagva a hideg éjszakában.
En: They continued their way easily, talking softly and laughing in the cold night.

Hu: Amikor odaértünk a Kocsmához, János előbb nyitotta ki Emesének az ajtót.
En: When they arrived at the Inn, János opened the door for Emese first.

Hu: "Hölgyem," mondta, "biztosítom helyet az éjszakára.
En: "Madam," he said, "I assure you a place for the night."

Hu: " János mindig gentlemanként viselkedett.
En: János always behaved like a gentleman.

Hu: A kocsma meleg és barátságos volt.
En: The inn was warm and friendly.

Hu: Az emberek nevetgéltek, beszélgettek.
En: People were laughing, chatting.

Hu: Az est folytatódott, az emberek jöttek-mentek, de ők ott maradtak, boldogan beszélgetve, élvezve egymás társaságát.
En: The evening went on, people came and went, but they stayed there, happily talking, enjoying each other's company.

Hu: Aztán, ahogy az óra az éj mélyére járt, a vidámság csendesült.
En: Then, as the night grew late, the merriment quieted down.

Hu: János óvatosan emelte fel a poharát.
En: János carefully raised his glass.

Hu: "Meg akarom koccintani a Budapesten eltöltött időnkre," mondta.
En: "I want to toast to the time we spent in Budapest," he said.

Hu: Emese visszamosolygott.
En: Emese smiled back.

Hu: Megkoccintották a poharaikat, a hanguk összekeveredett a kocsmában szóló zene melódiájával.
En: They clinked their glasses, their voices mingling with the melody of the music playing in the inn.

Hu: A holdfény bevilágította az ablakot, és hintette meg a poharak izzóját.
En: The moonlight illuminated the window, casting a glow on their glasses.

Hu: - Az éjszakát - mondta Emese, és végigkísérte a pohara bort.
En: "To the night," Emese said, and she sipped her wine.

Hu: "Még sok ilyen éjszakát," mondta János.
En: "Many more nights like this," János said.

Hu: És ahogy a bor szétterült a szájukban, a szívükben összecsengtek.
