Story Transcript:

Ja: 奈良公園の空気は、冬から春へと移ろいでいました。
En: The air in Nara Park was transitioning from winter to spring.

Ja: 冷たい風の中にも、桜の香りがほのかに漂っています。
En: Even in the chilly wind, a faint scent of sakura blossoms was drifting.

Ja: この季節の変わりを感じながら、そらはヒナ祭りを心待ちにしていました。
En: While feeling the change of seasons, Sora was eagerly anticipating the Hina Matsuri.

Ja: 「今日は特別な日だ」と思いながら、そらは公園に向かいました。
En: Thinking "today is a special day," Sora headed towards the park.

Ja: 彼女の心の奥には、ひな祭りにかこつけて、しばらく連絡が途絶えていた幼馴染のはるかと再会したいという切実な願いがありました。
En: Deep in her heart, she had a fervent wish to reunite with her childhood friend Haruka, with whom she had lost touch for a while, using the Hina Matsuri as an excuse.

Ja: 公園に着くと、はるかとそのいとこのれんが待っていました。
En: Upon reaching the park, she found Haruka and her cousin Ren waiting.

Ja: れんは東京から来たばかりで、奈良の伝統に興味を持っていました。
En: Ren had just arrived from Tokyo and was interested in the traditions of Nara.

Ja: 賑やかなはるかと、興味津々なれんは、そらを見つけて手を振りました。
En: The cheerful Haruka and the curious Ren spotted Sora and waved.

Ja: 「やあ、そら！今日は桜見に最高の日ね！」と、はるかは明るく声をかけました。
En: “Hey, Sora! Today is the perfect day to see the sakura!” Haruka called out brightly.

Ja: 「久しぶりだね、はるか」と、そらは少し緊張しながら答えました。
En: “It’s been a while, Haruka,” Sora replied, a bit nervous.

Ja: 心の中では、どんな風に話しかければいいか考えていました。
En: In her heart, she was thinking about how best to talk.

Ja: 「れんくん、せっかくだから、少し静かなスポットを案内しようか？」と、そらは提案しました。
En: “Ren-kun, since you’re here, how about we head to a quieter spot?” Sora suggested.

Ja: れんは嬉しそうに頷きました。
En: Ren nodded happily.

Ja: そこから三人は、あまり知られていない小道を歩きました。
En: From there, the three walked down a lesser-known path.

Ja: 古い桜の木々の下で、そらはふと足を止めました。
En: Under the old sakura trees, Sora suddenly stopped.

Ja: 風が吹き、花びらが舞い落ちるその瞬間、そらは思い切って言いました。
En: As the breeze blew and petals danced down, she boldly said,

Ja: 「はるか、昔みたいに、もっと一緒に過ごしたい。」
En: “Haruka, like in the past, I want to spend more time together with you.”

Ja: はるかは目を丸くしましたが、すぐににこやかに笑いました。
En: Haruka widened her eyes but quickly smiled warmly.

Ja: 「私もそう思ってた。ずっと言い出せなかったの。」
En: “I’ve been thinking the same. I just couldn’t bring myself to say it.”

Ja: 話の輪にれんも入り、「これからは一緒にもっと素敵な思い出を作りたいな」と、れんが言いました。
En: Ren joined in the conversation circle, “From now on, I’d like us to create more wonderful memories together,” he said.

Ja: 桜の花びらが舞い降りて、三人は静かに笑い合いました。
En: The sakura petals gently fell, and the three quietly shared laughter.

Ja: そらは、心の奥が少し温かくなるのを感じました。
En: Sora felt a warmth blossoming in her heart.

Ja: 新しい春が始まるように、彼女の心も新たな繋がりで満たされたのです。
En: Just as a new spring was beginning, her heart was also filled with new connections.

Ja: 時間が経っても、心の繋がりは強く、再び結びつくことができると知り、そらは少しだけ自分に自信を持つことができました。
En: She realized that no matter how much time passed, the bonds of the heart remain strong and can reconnect, giving Sora a bit more confidence in herself.
