Story Transcript:

Hu: Kampó: János morogva bámulta a tíz tányér gulyást az asztalon.
En: Hook: János grumbled and stared at the ten plates of goulash on the table.

Hu: Mit fog tenni, hogy megegye az egészet?
En: What will you do to eat it all?

Hu: János éhes volt, és ahogy belépett a gulyásfőző étterembe, nyomban rendelt is egy adagot.
En: János was hungry, and as soon as he entered the goulash restaurant, he immediately ordered a portion.

Hu: De valami különös történt a rendeléskor.
En: But something strange happened when ordering.

Hu: Talán a szakács meghallotta rosszul, vagy talán János mondta nehezen a számokat, de a végén tíz tányér gulyás érkezett az asztalára.
En: Maybe the cook misheard him, or maybe János had trouble saying the numbers, but in the end, ten plates of goulash arrived on his table.

Hu: János kétségbeesve bámulta a hegyes magyaros tálakat, tudva, hogy nem tudna ennyit megenni.
En: János desperately stared at the pointed Hungarian bowls, knowing that he would not be able to eat that much.

Hu: De nem akarta otthagyni őket sem.
En: But he didn't want to leave them either.

En: They were very tasty and he didn't want them to stick together and mix together in the cold.

En: So how could you eat so many goulash all at once?

Hu: János elkezdett ötletelni.
En: János started thinking.

Hu: Próbálta felmérni, mennyi maradna az étteremben, ha csak annyit enne, amennyit szeretne.
En: He tried to estimate how much would be left in the restaurant if he only ate as much as he wanted.

Hu: De aztán rájött, hogy a maradék mennyiség is túl sok volna neki.
En: But then he realized that the remaining amount would be too much for him.

Hu: Végül János rájött a megoldásra.
En: Finally János found the solution.

Hu: Egyszerre csak egy tányérnyi gulyást fog enni, és amikor az üres, átteszi a következőre.
En: He will only eat one plate of goulash at a time, and when it is empty, he will move on to the next one.

Hu: Elkezdte a nassolást, és hamarosan még az első tányér felénél is járt.
En: He started snacking and soon was halfway through the first plate.

Hu: Az ízek fantasztikusak voltak, a hús puha és a fűszerezés pontos.
En: The flavors were fantastic, the meat tender and the seasoning just right.

Hu: Sikerült az első tányért hamar elfogyasztania, de már kezdett kicsit elgyengülni.
En: He managed to eat the first plate quickly, but he was already starting to get a little weak.

Hu: Közben társalgott a szomszéd asztaloknál ülő emberekkel.
En: Meanwhile, he chatted with the people sitting at the neighboring tables.

En: Everyone seemed helpful and nice.

En: But time is running out, and János still had six plates of goulash waiting for him.

En: He slowly ate all the plates, but by the tenth he almost gave up.

En: When he came out into the street, János felt refreshed, as if he had completed another difficult task.

En: And even though it looked like he wasn't going to succeed, he was still happy that he managed to eat all the plates of goulash.
