Pl: Słońce rozgrzewało asfaltowy plac zabaw, a dzieci biegały, śmiały się i grały w piłkę.
En: The sun was warming the asphalt playground, and children were running, laughing, and playing ball.

Pl: To była letnia przerwa w szkole podstawowej w Warszawie.
En: It was the summer break at the elementary school in Warszawa.

Pl: Zenon siedział samotnie pod drzewem, obserwując swoich rówieśników.
En: Zenon sat alone under a tree, watching his peers.

Pl: Jego serce było ciężkie, choć na zewnątrz próbował wyglądać pogodnie.
En: His heart was heavy, even though he tried to appear cheerful on the outside.

Pl: Zenon miał 13 lat i skomplikowane życie rodzinne.
En: Zenon was 13 years old and had a complicated family life.

Pl: Jego rodzina była dysfunkcyjna.
En: His family was dysfunctional.

Pl: W domu często było głośno i chaotycznie.
En: It was often loud and chaotic at home.

Pl: "Hej, Zenek, co tam u ciebie?" zapytał Bartek, podchodząc bliżej. "Słyszałem, że coś się działo u ciebie w domu."
En: “Hey, Zenek, how are you?” Bartek asked, coming closer. “I heard something happened at your home.”

Pl: Zenon zawahał się. Mógł odegrać rolę wesołego, beztroskiego chłopaka jak zawsze, albo... mógł powiedzieć prawdę.
En: Zenon hesitated. He could play the role of a happy-go-lucky boy as always, or... he could tell the truth.

Pl: Bał się, że jak powie coś o swoim życiu domowym, przyjaciele go odrzucą albo wyśmieją.
En: He was afraid that if he said something about his home life, his friends would reject or mock him.

Pl: Zebrał odwagę i spojrzał na Anielę i Bartka.
En: He gathered the courage and looked at Aniela and Bartek.

Pl: Z trudem zaczął mówić: "Wiecie, w domu jest ciężko. Czasami mam wrażenie, że nikogo to nie obchodzi. Rodzice się kłócą..."
En: With difficulty, he began to speak: “You know, it’s tough at home. Sometimes I feel like nobody cares. My parents argue...”

Pl: Aniela usiadła obok niego pod drzewem, kładąc rękę na jego ramieniu.
En: Aniela sat next to him under the tree, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Pl: "Zenek, to nic złego, że masz problemy w domu. Czasami wszyscy to przechodzimy."
En: “Zenek, there’s nothing wrong with having problems at home. Sometimes we all go through this.”

Pl: Bartek dodał: "Ja też nie mam łatwo. Moi rodzice też się kłócą, i to często. Ale pamiętaj, zawsze możesz z nami pogadać."
En: Bartek added, “I don’t have it easy either. My parents argue too, and often. But remember, you can always talk to us.”

Pl: Zenon spojrzał na Bartka, czując, jak ciężar z jego serca nieco spada.
En: Zenon looked at Bartek, feeling the weight on his heart lift a bit.

Pl: Zrozumiał, że nie jest sam z problemami.
En: He realized he wasn’t alone with his problems.

Pl: Wiedział, że nie musi ciągle udawać.
