Uk: Сонце ласкаво хлопало на велике ще незчуне море золотого поля в Херсонській області.
En: The sun warmly caressed the vast, yet untouched sea of golden fields in the Khersonskii region.

Uk: Оксана, вчителька з цікавими очима й сміливим серцем, тримала в руках стару, трохи пошарпану карту.
En: Oksana, a teacher with curious eyes and a brave heart, held in her hands an old, slightly battered map.

Uk: Її дідусь залишив цю карту ще давним-давно, розповідаючи про якусь приховану скарбницю десь у соняшниках.
En: Her grandfather had left this map long ago, telling tales of a hidden treasure somewhere in the sunflowers.

Uk: Поруч йшов Тарас, її дитячий друг та досвідчений фермер.
En: Beside her walked Taras, her childhood friend and an experienced farmer.

Uk: Він був скептичним, сумніваючись у правдивості карти.
En: He was skeptical, doubting the truthfulness of the map.

Uk: Але все ж, друзі разом вирушили на пошуки.
En: Yet still, the friends set off together in search.

Uk: Їх надихали сімейні історії та мрія про відкриття чогось особливого.

Uk: Йшло літо, а над полями прокидалося величезне небо.

En: Meteorologists had promised a storm, yet Oksana insisted on continuing.

En: They quickly moved forward, searching for the landmarks indicated on the map.

Uk: Укінці вони знайшли старий дуб, що стояв, наче вартовий часу, посеред поля.
En: In the end, they found an old oak tree standing like a guardian of time in the middle of the field.

Uk: "Тут!
En: "Here!"

Uk: " — впевнено вигукнула Оксана, показуючи на точку біля коренів дуба.
En: Oksana exclaimed confidently, pointing to a spot near the roots of the oak.

Uk: Тарас багатозначно поглянув на хмари, але разом з Оксаною почали копати.
En: Taras shot a meaningful glance at the clouds but started digging with her.

Uk: Земля була м'якою від численних літніх злив, лопати з легкістю проникали в неї.
En: The ground was soft from numerous summer showers, the shovels penetrated it with ease.

Uk: Раптом вони почули металевий звук.
En: Suddenly, they heard a metallic sound.

Uk: Пальці Оксани натрапили на щось холодне — після декількох хвилин нервового розкопування, перед ними з'явилася старовинна скринька.
En: Oksana's fingers touched something cold—after a few minutes of nervous digging, before them appeared an ancient chest.

Uk: Вони обережно відкрили її, очікуючи побачити скарби.
En: They carefully opened it, expecting to see treasures.

Uk: Але всередині лежали лише пожовклі листи та старий медальйон.
En: But inside were just yellowed letters and an old locket.

Uk: Оксана підняла медальйон, уважно вдивляючись у свої родинні ініціали на ньому.
En: Oksana picked up the locket, gazing closely at her family initials on it.

Uk: Її очі засвітилися.
En: Her eyes lit up.

Uk: "Це скарб, Тарасе.
En: "This is treasure, Tarase.

Uk: Він говорить про мою історію, як ніякий інший метал!
En: It speaks of my history like no other metal!

Uk: ", — сказала вона в захваті.
En: ", she said with delight.

Uk: Тарас усміхнувся, поклавши руку їй на плече.
En: Taras smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Uk: "Ти знайшла своє золото", — погодився він.
En: "You found your gold," he agreed.
