Episode 2: The Future is Now: A Time-Travelling Murder Mystery

I rub my eyes and let out a groan. The Year 3000. I never in my wildest dreams thought this moment would arrive. We were warned about climate change, overpopulation, and even the zombie apocalypse. But an alternate universe ruled by antelopes? A giant time-travelling hamster disrupting the time-space continuum? I must be dreaming.
Fr: Je frotte mes yeux et pousse un gémissement. L'an 3000. Je n'aurais jamais imaginé que ce moment arriverait. On nous a prévenus du changement climatique, de la surpopulation et même de l'apocalypse des zombies. Mais un univers alternatif régi par des antilopes? Un énorme hamster voyageant dans le temps perturbant le continuum espace-temps? Je dois rêver.

En: Then I realize a disembodied voice is calling my name and I hear the sound of a ticking clock in the background. I have to solve a murder mystery in 48 hours using a combination of futuristic technology and scientific advancements? It all sounds so surreal.

Fr: Ensuite, je réalise qu'une voix sans corps m'appelle et j'entends le son d'une horloge qui tické dans le fond. Je dois résoudre un mystère meurtrier en 48 heures en utilisant une combinaison de technologies futuristes et de progrès scientifiques? Tout cela semble si irréel.

En: I brace myself, aware that time is of the essence. Taking a deep breath, I search the room. It's a mix of the familiar and the unknown. In the center is a large computer screen embedded in the wall. The lights flicker, illuminating bluish-green text which read: "Welcome to the future, [my name]. Track down the killer before the 48 hour mark or suffer the consequences." A chill runs down my spine.

Fr: Je me ressaisis, conscient que le temps est essentiel. Après avoir pris une grande respiration, je fouille la pièce. C'est un mélange entre lo familiar et l'inconnu. Au centre se trouve une grande console, intégrée au mur. Les lumières clignotent, éclairant du texte bleu-vert qui lit: «Bienvenue dans le futur, [mon nom]. Trouvez le meurtrier avant le délai de 48 heures, ou subissez les conséquences. » Un frisson me parcourt l'échine.
